New knife comming

I was looking for a knife for whittling , looked into the case Seahorse Whittler . I bought a knife on eBay for 52.00 was a case xx seahorse Whittler with walnut scales new in box . The knife is numbered and has a knife collectors club on the blade . I bought the knife to use not to collect , am I wrong to use a knife that is numbered . What separates a collector # knife from a user .

Go ahead and use it. Case makes so many "collector" knives that you'd have to wait 40 years to see it appreciate. That's why you got it for less than half of MSRP.

CW , my friend it’s your first of many. I started with the Ore carver but now I’ll use any of these that happens be the closest.


And four is nothing compared to a lot of whittlers

what you should be starting with, imho, is the mora 106 - amazing perfection in simplicity & cost

or if you want the smaller one, look at model 122 ; )
