Here's the first of two designs that I've been working on (and have forced me to sell my other customs.)

It's a mid-size flipper folder, with a framelock and integral bolsters with a scale on the presentation side. Has influences from most of the major tactical makers, old and new. Hopefully I haven't stepped on any toes -- this is a big concern to me. If I have, it's purely unconscious and I apologize.

I did the design work, and Reese Weiland did the realization and execution. I'd like to thank Reese here for taking the time and effort to work with me on this project. He's been wonderful to develop with and just shoot the breeze with.

Please let me know what you think, if you have any questions, and/or if you'd like the design philosophy behind it. Honest opinions are very much appreciated.

Also, I'm trying to get a small semi-production/mid-tech run of these done up, if there's enough interest, so please email me if you like it and would be interested in one.

Thank you.

I like it! It has the fixed blade look in a folder. I just not feeling where the disk is located at on the top. This is my opinion.

Again nice design

Getting into an area of advertising.
With Weilands blurb at the bottom of pic it just might be.
Cool design tho.

Hm.

You want I should remove that tagline? Can do if it's bad form.

Jon, could you please email me on price and availability.

how smooth is the flipper mechanism?

Spyken,

Mail sent.

The action is very smooth -- Reese has really tuned the action on it so it's buttery with a good, strong, closing detent. The detent and flipper position on it need a little more engineering to have as much kick as the best out there (i.e. Hammond, Chew, etc.) -- with a good finger tap, it opens about 75% of the way but you do need to give it a little wrist nudge to engage.

I'd say it's definitely at the level of the majority of custom flippers on the market.

Now there's a blade design I've never seen before. Very very nice. I'm assuming it's a vee grind? Looking at just one side it looks like a draw knife near the handle. Makes me wonder how kick-ass it would be on wood with a chisel grind not that it isn't kick-ass as is.

Smegs,

Sorry -- didn't see this post!

It's a v-grind, flat ground both sides on the front, and hollow ground both sides on the back.

Chisel grinds have their place, but I like multirole knives that don't veer. ;)
