New knife Dilemma (which would you buy and why?)

i would buy the mini grip because of the 154cm, the axis lock, and the leek and delica have fairly weak tips IMO

Becker Bk11. For it's portability, great blade steel, and it's strength. It's a fixed blade made from properly heat treated 1095 all for under $40, need I say more?
Oh... You meant from your list...
Well, it's between the Benchmade Mini Griptilian, for the awesome Axis lock, and the Spyderco Delica, for it's FFG goodness.
After that, if the other points don't matter, it's a matter of blade steel preference: VG10 (Delica) and 154CM (Griptilian).

I honestly dont LOVE any of them. My girlfriend says go with the delica but she says its apples and oranges with the delica and 556. We both dislike the leek

I would recommend the Delica, but not in the standard VG-10. I would suggest getting the ZDP-189 version, which should have substantially better edge retention than the leek or grip. I also think the Delica has better ergonomics than the leek or grip.

I'd go with the Delica in that group. Better handle that the Mini Grip with more room and a better slicer- the leek is not in the same category as far as apples to apples IMHO.

I have the Kershaw Leek 1660 framelock and the FFG Endura. The Leek is a little heavy for me for such a 3" blade, and I prefer non-assisted now. My Endura is a fairly slow opener compared to the Leek and my Buck Vantage Pro. IMO the Mini-grip is in a higher weight class due to price. If you can find the mini-grip for the same price as a delica ffg then I say definitely get the mini-grip. There are many knives with lock-backs, but you can only get Benchmades with an axis-lock (the Spyderco Manix doesn't have an actual axis lock). If you are gonna be slicin' cheese all day though, you might prefer the FFG blade. My Endura FFG is basically a folding steak knife. If you just want an all-around EDC blade, I like drop points first, clip points second, FFG third, and then the Leek's semi-sheepsfoot blade. I think the big determining factors for you to really LOOK at are the blade shapes and the prices.

Delica 4 FFG. I had a Leek but got rid of it--nice little knife, but I didn't like how it carried. I've never warmed up to the stock (mini)Griptilians but have seen some with custom scales that look fantastic! Love my Delicas though...

Good luck! :)

For everyday use I would give a slight edge (pardon the pun) to the FFG Delica over the BM Mini-Grip. I have both ZDP-189 and VG-10 FFG Delicas and they're EXCELLENT slicers. The pocket clip can be placed for either tip up or tip down carry options, and the grip texture provides good traction. In fairness, I feel the Benchmade design is more robust with the axis lock and thicker blade. I would consider the Leek more of a gentlemen's folder with a flat(ter) cutting edge.

i hate knives not made in the usa and will not buy them and the leek is way to delicate. the grip is a nice pocket knife. i would recomed the full size grip over the mini. imo it is just the better knife. it fits in your hand better, more grippy, longer blade etc.... and it is still light

I'd suggest the Leek in S30V and G10. Great steel, comfy handle, Speedsafe Assist, and no plastic handles. :D

I own a 557 mini grip with a tanto blade. Super durable setup, but the lowish saber grind makes it a poor choice for slicing. Step up to an s30v blade with a good tip and a high flat grind on the mini ritter by Doug ritter. Best of the mini grips.

i have both a delica and a grip. i prefer the delica it is a lot thinner and more comfortable to carry. i have a older version three without the liners.

I'd go with the Spydie, I'm really partial to their VG-10 and the FFG blade grind cuts very well also they come in several nifty colors.

I vote for the Mini Griptilian. Nice texture, comfortable shape, and I like the lock.
