Hey guys,
Brief introduction; I'm making this post as I just received my first knife, an all black tenacious, today. I'm surprises how much I like it! I got it as a first, entry folder with decent steel, g10, etc.

I immediately wanted to purchase the other spydies that I've been eye'ing and 'lusting' over online for up to a year or more. But I've found that the Schempp "Rock Salt"; the one in H1 instead of VG-10 is discontinued :thumbdn:
I desperately want one for my climate it is perfect. I browsed the appropriate sale forums, and also online stores and couldn't find the H1.

I'm willing to pay a premium for one.
Can somebody tell me where to look, who to ask, or part with one :-) ?

When I opened up the tenacious and started to flick it I thought "uh oh, this could be an addiction to collecting"...

Thanks everyone

Awesome. Thanks Rev!

I'm wondering - if they discontinued the H1 (which I had thought came second) for the VG-10 version, maybe they came to the conclusion that it was just as good in real life application for wet/salt environment? I can't see that though.

Thanks again.

The jumpmaster and warrior are other big fixed blades that are still around in H1.

VG-10 is not rust proof, but pretty darn rust resistant. It has around 15% Chromium which dictates rust resistance quite a bit. I have had small rust spots on 8Cr13MoV (Tenacious steel) and S30V. I have three in VG-10, and have not seen any signs of any corrosion. Salt may get to VG-10, but I bet just water and moisture is fine.

You picked a good company to start with. With few exceptions, there isn't a lot that you can ask of a knife that you won't find a Spyderco that perfectly suits the task. I would recommend you check out the Perrin Street Bowie as a fixed blade to compliment your Tenacious.
