I was doing a round up and looked through some of my old storage tins and found a new Camilius knife.

It has a single lock blade, bone handle and an inlaid 22 hornet center fire case end on one side. It's not very long maybe 3" overall and the bone is very deeply grooved. It was in a sleeve no box, looks new.

Does anybody know anything about this knife? I think this was a comp of some sort I can't remember.

I know Remington gave away a small one-blade Peanut pattern (made by Camillus) with a package of .22 rimfire ammo. (One of the members here sent me one to give to one of my Scouts.) Yours may be something similar.

thx - cpr

I recently purchased a bunch that are similar without the hornet cartridge.

Special? Hmmmm....

Well, I guess if you ... or your dad ... or grandfather actually had a hand in making the knife it might be special. If the "old storage tin" you found it in contained only items near and dear to a very close friend or relative, then it might be special. If you grew up fishing in the creek that ran beside the factory and throughout your life only used knives made in that same factory to clean fish caught in that same creek and dress deer taken in nearby woods, it might be special.

Otherwise it's just a plastic, brass, silver, and steel object that would probably bring around $20-$25 on eBay.

Good luck.

City-Thanks, I wanted a knife with a .22 shell on it and this one's close. I won't have to worry about my bone (derilin) handle breaking!

Now isn't that "special".
