I am looking for a new knife I could tell my wife to get me for my gift for christmas. I am looking for a great all around knife. Not sure if it will become my edc but something similar. Right now I always carry a Kershaw Leek for my edc and I have enjoyed it alot. Its a very nice knife for the money. What knife do yall think would be a good knife to go with. Probably can spend up too $120 bucks. Thanks

I personally really like my Benchmade mini griptilian, I think it makes an excellent edc. I would highly recommend one. I carried a leek for a short time but it just couldnt replace my mini grip. I like the axis lock and the size is perfect for daily use. My next knife is going to be a full size grip, most likely the Doug Ritter model. I also have read many, many great things about spydercos here on the forums, so you might want to check some of those out. Hope that helps.

For 120, check out the paramilitary, definitely. Can't forget the 710 or RSK either. For 60 check out the d`allara drop point, and 40 check out the S30V native and VG10 Centofantes (you can get them now in wharncliffe). The Kershaw Spec Bump is pretty cool for 115.

That new ET is probably going to be hit and miss, but I'm definitely interested.

I asked for a Combat Elite Manual RRF, green handle and black Maxx inserts, and manual version.

If the Leek is what you carry now, I'd recommend the Spyderco Burgundy Calypso in ZDP-189 steel. The Paramiltary and the 710 are great knives, but they're both a bit heavy and big for EDC for me. The Calypso will be very easy to carry like the Leek, and the ZDP-189 is loads better than the Leek's 440A steel in edge retention. Also it's one heck of a slicer - really thin blade profile. Fits comfortably in the hand also. It's the knife I most often carry.

Well, I appreciate all the help guys.. and yall got me looking at about everything out there made by BM or spyderco... I almost had my mind made up on the 710HS but I went and looked at one today at a local shop. Well I am glad I went and looked at it because it was just not exactly what I was looking for in a EDC for me. Just a bit big, might raise and eyebrow or two if I pulled it out somewhere and just cause a little to much attention. But when I was looking at the shop I found the 943 which I really liked alot. Blade on this knife was super sharp and the axis lock is awesome. Just alittle bit better for me for an EDC. One thing I also like is it has an aluminum handle. I am still having problems getting used to all the nylon reinforced handles on alot of the knifes nowadays. I know its stronger and may last longer just kinda feels weird to me when I am used to something metal or bone there that feels stronger. I then went ahead and called up New Graham and talked to them about a couple of others and anyways.... ended up buying the 943. I post back up when it comes in. thanks guys

Congrats on the 943!! I can't wait until you get it!! i want to hear all about it.
