Opinions welcome. Something new for the first time in a long time! Knife is 1/8" thick 1084 that is clay heat treated and triple tempered. Only power tool being used is a drill press for the pins. Everything else is files and sandpaper. As a result most of my knives have a convex edge but I spent a lot of time draw filing thins one for a nice flat grind. Takes a while. Handle is black G-10 with black Micarta pins for stealth. Sheath is still to be made. OAL is 6.25" with a 2.5" blade. What do you think?

I like this picture a lot. Camera is an Olympus Stylyus 400. Great camera, not the best for Anso-style close-ups, but between the ability to crop high res images and the macro feature you can get in there pretty well.

Pins look like SS here, but really, they blend in great in person. Handles are finished to 320 grit.

Those lines next to the ricasso are the marks left over from draw filing. I guess I didn't get them all out with my stones and sandpaper. Sue me! :D

Just screwing around with the macro feature on the camera. Not bad.

Wow. That is really cool! What are the specs?
Edited: You edited your post while I was typing. That's cheating!

Thanks! Now, if only I could produce more than a handful of knives a year I'd be all set! Somehow patients keep getting in the way! :D

I was going for a Snody Ronin sort of look. I saw it in a magazine and said "I could make one of those." As it usually turns out when I am inspired by a knife, it actually looks almost nothing like it, and most of the design elements that makes the Ronin unique are missing (like the holes in the handle for manipulation of the knife, etc). Usually my process works like this: I see a picture of something I like, I cut a piece of steel off and I start working a knife out of it. Between the time I saw the picture and I have a blade blank in front of me, the knife takes on a life of its own and it's usually very different from the inspiration. That's a lot better than copying something, anyway, so I guess it works out nicely for everyone involved! :)
