Hi to All,
I would like to present you a special knife Hinderer/ Steel Flame/ Golden Custom. The knife blade and the decoration of the front titanium scales were designed by Pavel Khanmurzin that is by myself.
Hinderer XM knife with the blade Bowie was my old dream. I wrote a message related to this knife to Rick after registering on his web site, but never received his answer (probably, he was too busy for the moment). Therefore, I decided to go by my own. First,
I bought the original knife on the website at monkeyedge and silver pieces from Steel Flame on the Rick's web site. Then, I wrote a message to «Golden Custom» and requested the possibility for redesigning the knife according to my own sketch. After a fruitful discussion, we decided not to regrind the original knife blade (although it was possible), but to fabricate an exact copy of the blade from a higher quality steel (ZDP 189) and then to form a proper shape of the blade Bowie.
As a result, after 2-years efforts and expectations, the knife is ready!!! Here is a list of changes with respect to the original model:
- Fabrication of front titanium scales and their finishing by Bead blast.
- Thermal processing of both knife pads for Bronze-like looking
- The fabrication of Logo 'R.Hinderer' from silver.
- The deposition of Logos, including 'Golden Custom' one, on the front titanium scales
- The employment of licensed system for mechanical knife opening 'Ikoma Korth Bearing System'.
