New Knife: Kershaw Scamp

just picked one of these up today at the local mall. i like the looks and feel of it, and the size. it's a pretty hefty knife, frame lock, g10 scale on one side and stainless on the other.
the blade is 8CR13MOV, which i have no problem with, being a byrd knives fan, and i got the combo edge version. not bad for a low-priced knife. feels nice and solid, fit and finish are good.

stats according to the kershaw website

blade length: 3-3/8 inches titanium carbonitride-coated

closed length: 4-5/8 inches

about 8 inches open

positionable pocket clip, tip-up or tip-down right hand

i'm pretty happy with this. i'll post more when i've given it some pocket time. sorry, no pics for now, camera is on the fritz.
 
i gave the scamp a day out today. no cutting done, but the blade's hair-shaving sharp and i have no doubt it'll give good service. the clip in the tip-down position rides very deep in the pocket; in the tip-up it's not nearly so low-riding. the clip is long and holds well down on the pocket, but isn't so tight that it's a pain. also, the clip is on a plain steel scale/frame, so it slides on and off easily.

nice sharp thumbstuds give good purchase and the blade can pop out nice and fast if you want. the g10 is not as aggressive as most; it's fairly slick but workable.
