I heard a rumor that there's some new knife ordinance that says you can't carry a knife at any parks in Sacramento county?

I sure hope this is not true because I always like to carry my knife when I go to the basketball court at the park near my house and I always walk my dog at night through the parks with my knife.

Here is a site for Sacramento laws http://www.qcode.us/codes/sacramento/ Title 9 is where you will find the knife laws (Weapons and Explosives).

And here is the official Sacramento Parks and Recreation site http://www.cityofsacramento.org/parksandrecreation/parks/park-safety.htm

I don't see anything about carrying knives in parks. But if a new law has been passed I don't know how long it might take for it to be added to those sites.

You could always call the parks department. But be careful how you ask. Carrying a knife is perfectly normal to you and I but to some city employee on the phone, it might sound scary and they might tell you that it's illegal even if it isn't, either out of fear or ignorance, or both. You could just ask if any new laws have been passed regarding parks without being specific about knives.
