There were SO many great contributions...

When the final name for the knife is selected, it will be researched for any trademark conflicts. This can take a little time, but the knife will be released with its new name VERY soon. My thanks to so many of you who have ordered this beautiful work of Busse Combat cutlery in advance. For those who are interested in the details of securing yours, please contact me off line.

I thought Bolo was not to be used in the name:

Good luck to the finalists. Wish it could be you all but I wouldn't order a knife that had a 20 word name. It would take to long to describe it to folks.
 
Volvi...you are absolutley, 100% correct!!! I completely overlooked this...probably due to filtering through thousands of names and getting saturated.

To be honest, the two finalists, as well as many others, sounded way cool and must have caused me to overlook the "sans bolo" request. My bad.

My apologies to those who deliberately omitted "bolo" from their contributions.

If you did deliberately omit it, contact me off line and I will make good with you somehow, someway. This contest has been GREAT fun and I am very thankful for all of your posts and contributions, making this job the best in the world!!!

Wow, I made the finalist' list!!!

I thought it was a cool name, even though bolo was in the title. To be honest, it had been so long, I forgot about the rules.

Hope my name being chosen for the final list didn't upset anyone. I sure wouldn't want that.

Anyhow, any of the top names would be a great name for such an outstanding knife. I don't know how ya'll are gonna choose one out of the ten, cause I don't know how ya'll chose ten out of the 400+.

Well, Andy, no need checking the copyright thingy. Prior to the competition I contacted my lawyer buddies in DC [all of whom are in Florida now] and got myself a copyright on every combination of every english word. SOOOOOOOO, don't waste time searching, looks like you will be negotiating with me!!!! Course, those negotiations will go much smoother if I am dining on some sweet 'tater pie...not that I can be bribed, or anything. hahaha

Seriously, congrats to the finalists, those are some terrific names. Who, other than Andy, could get a bunch of us old rednecks to submit 50,000 names, for a new knife?

Have to agree with the fellows that brought up the point that the name should not include "bolo" as a) Andy did specify initially that the new name was not to include "bolo" and b) more than likely, the name "bolo" is already trademarked.

The correct thing to do, would be to scrap this contest and start out a new one where the rules are adhered to from beginning to end, no exception. Otherwise, there will always be the taint of the rules changed in midstream associated with the winning name, especially if it includes "bolo".

I'd hate to see a repeat of the Florida vote boondoggle here.
