This knife needs to be replaced because of a unreliable lock. the new knife i want needs to have a single locking blade between 3 and 3.5 inches long and cost under $100. I am gonna miss this knife, it cost me $5 over 20 years ago and was well made and reliable. any pics, prices, makers, and links would help

Here, you can shop to your heart's content.

I say a really nice "Kershaw" or "Spyderco" can be had for the $100 range, but lots of "BM" & others to choose from also. "New Graham" is one of the best places to purchase online, IMO. Great!! customer service & decent prices.

i have plenty of tacticals , i am looking for something similiar to my old knife., something that is sheeple friendly

Who said anything about "tacticals"??? There is a VERY wide selection of everything available @ "NGK". Sorry, but it "peeves" me when people ask for advice, & then refuse to consider it.

Buck has numerous lockbacks although the 500 series that most fits your description is under 3 inches. For a little more there's the lone wolf Paul series. Mcusta has some nice looking folders for less than 100 dollars as well.

I would say either a sypdie caly3 like another poster suggested or a nice lockback. Seeing as how tatical folders don't appeal to you.

Get a Case or Boker Sod-Buster. Ole faithful! Not too scary. Or look at CRK&T Mo'skeeter. Lastly: Boker Trance, DP.

You may look at the Al Mar Sere2000 folder? Rides deep in the pocket, and is a tank. I'm in the market for one at this moment.

Buck knives are great too!
