New knife soon.

Well it's been a while since I've bought myself a new knife. Last one was the Buck Adrenaline...

But there's a knife show that comes here every year around this time. I missed one last weekend but another is coming this Saturday and I was going with my roommate. Last weekend he got an SOG Pup Elite for $65... So I'd like to find something else moved down nicely in price there myself.

But right now I'm wanting to get a new knife for the sake of having another. Not even sure what I want. Most of the knives I still want are more expensive than I'd like to pay. Every day right now I carry my Buck Adrenaline and Kershaw Blackout (one I bought in December so I want to keep it on me.. the Blackout was a Christmas gift so I'm keeping that on me too..).

As for my other knives, what I can think of off the top of my head is a random butterfly knife, kershaw scallion, a tanto from Smith and Wesson, SOG field pup, Buck Approach, and the two I mentioned above. I guess I should get myself some fixed blade now. Though I'd prefer keeping the price below 3 digits. So any nice suggestions for me?

Been reading here a while but decided to finally post now :) Because I'm keeping my mind occupied wondering what new blade I'll get myself soon. I'm like a kid in a candy shop. A dangerous candy shop.

edit: Couldn't remember the name of the Approach... added it now.

Welcome to Bladeforums!

Take a look at Kershaw's new knives, the Groove or Junkyard Dog. Also the Storm (or Storm II).

Also check out our Boker forum for the Trance.

Thanks for the welcome!

Looking at those I kind of like the Storm and the Groove. Though I'm not a huge fan of the Trance ones there for whatever reason.

Right now I'm thinking I might not get another folder for a while. I have 4 that I really like and it sucks that I don't get to carry them all as much as I'd like. But I don't really want to go around with 4 knives on me. So I think I'm just going to go for a fixed blade unless I find a folder that I fall in love with somehow.

At the moment I'm thinking the SOG Hunter Revolution... Or maybe their pentagon. Probably the revolution more so because I will be going on a trip to a friend's mountain house in VA soon and it'd be more useful there.

Good thinking. There's plenty of time to buy more folders, especially after you may get a chance to actually handle some of what looks good. As we say, everyone's hand is different, and what's comfortable for me may not be for you.

Fixed blades give you a lot of choices, too. I would avoid the Pentagon as more for show, unless you are into deanimating comm-bloc infiltrators ...

The SOG Revolutions are interesting knives and Robbie Roberson, the designer, sent me some pictures of one he was using that really impressed me. That saw works. I also like the SOG grips generally.

Yeah, the pentagon for me would only be taken just because I like how it looks. Part of me ends up blinded by thinking something looks really cool. For now unless someone has a great sale on it I'll probably not get the Pentagon until I get to summer where I can work more and get more money.

Yeah, so far I love the grips from SOG as well. I got the Field Pup about a year ago and I'm in love with how that knife feels in my hand. I've held a Pup Elite that my friend bought recently and it seems to feel pretty good too.
