I want to buy a new folding knife for about $120 give or take, and would like it to be 4" or close to that . My favorite knife is the Benchmade 710 , and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for knives that were similar in size or ergo. Seems like a lot of knives are being produced closer to 3.5" or smaller length . Which is a great size but since there is no length laws in my area I prefer about 4" blades. Thanks for your suggestions.

I second the spyderco military and also would take a look at emerson knives, maybe a cqc-8 or cqc-13 would be pretty nice, too.

1. Spyderco military. approx $140

2. Spyderco Police 3. Approx $130

3. Spyderco G10 Endura Approx $115

Sorry to sidetrack the thread a little bit, but the two knives I am considering for my next purchase seem to be the most recommended here. If you had to choose between the military and police 3, which one would you choose? I think a better question might be to ask which one you would buy first or see the most pocket time since I think I will get the other if I like this blade length.

I think you'd probably be better off starting a new thread on the topic - choosing between the Military and Police 3.

Of the 2 I really like the Police 3, but either one is a winner with that full flat ground. Its really a choice between VG-10 with a lockback, or S30V with a liner lock. Normally I would never pick liner lock over a lockback but The Spyderco Military is one exception to this, either one is a winner. IRRC the millie may be slightly lighter than the Police.
