Okay, so i'm looking at the Spyderco southard, zt 0561, and a Spyderco domino or stretch. any recommendations? I also wouldn't mind them on other knives then this. Always am open to suggestions. Around 225 or 240 is my spending limit. Thanks everyone!

I don't own any of those 3, but out of those, the Southard tickles my pickle the most. I'd love one when the time's right.

I'd vote Southard. I've found the 0561 a little unwieldy for EDC uses. With a Southard, you get an overbuilt knife in a deceptively small package - 3.5" of 204p steel in a sort of modified sheepsfoot hollow ground blade, bearing pivot, and it's a Ti framelock.

I've never been much for FFG blades or lockbacks, so I'd go Southard every time.

Send me an email if you'd like - I actually have a NIB one kicking around.

Not on you list, but if you dont already have one, how about a ZT0801? If you are looking for a flipper...its really great...well built and super smooth, good value for the price in my opinion...

I vote for a Spyderco Military, if you haven't got one already. Otherwise a Hogue. Sorry to be a pain in the ass :)

Of the three you mentioned I'd pick the Domino, despite I find it the ugliest of the three. I don't like hollow grinds (Southard) and I don't trust ZT's Elmax (yet).

Southard Vs 0801 is more of a value thing IMO. They are both overbuilt manual bearing flippers with 3.5" blades, but there is about a $60 difference between the two knives on average. That $60 buys you 204p steel (M390) and a slimmer overall profile, which I would argue is worth it overall.

Don't get me wrong, the 0801 is a damned fine knife in all regards, but I would choose the Southard any day of the week just because of the bulkiness and the steel.

I realize you said 240 is your limit - BUT! - If you are patient enough, and can somehow scrape up another 100 bucks, why not get yourself the best and get a Sebenza? You can find them listed here on the exchange at least once or more a week at 350. And if ya didn't like it, sell it and not lose a penny!
But of the ones you listed, I'd go with the Southard. I've had one, and they are pretty nice. They don't sit very long on the exchange, that's for sure..

I also have become a big fan of compression locks but i don't see many knives with them. my pm2 and szabo both have them but other then that i haven't seen any.
