Hi All,

First post here. I'm kind of an Emerson junkie. Currently my stash consists of a Commander Mini, CQC-15 Mini, Combat Karambit, CQC-7 Karambit, and a Commander trainer. When I heard about the ZT0620 I had to pull the trigger and so far I have to say I'm really impressed. I know there's some controversy over this with the Emerson purists however I really think it's a fantastic collaboration. I'm not going to be getting rid of my Emersons but this is a great little knife and I think it'll see a lot of time as an EDC. Plus, I have to wear dress pants sometimes for work and the Emerson G10 tends to eat even my jeans pockets.

Anyway, if anyone else is fence sitting as I was on the idea of picking one up I think you'll be happy with the purchase.

My only pair of ZT knives. I have the Emerson pocketclip installed on the satin/stonewash M390 model. I like the Emerson clip more for it's shape and profile. I can hook my fingertips to it better than the ZT pocketclip when pulling it out of pocket. Happy with mine!:D

Gee Ray, almost looks like a more ergonomic and less expensive HD-7 if ya' ask me...;)

Yeah, I HAD some funds set aside for a HD7 SF but I don't think I'll be getting one for now and I have change left for a burger or 2:D. I like the 620's more that I thought I would. I can now say that there is a framelock that I like given all that I have tried, used and complained about over the years. I just wish the 620's were a touch lighter. I like how they are almost the same thickness as the regular production linerlock Emerson models which is a big plus for me.

Great tip on the pocket clip. I have a spare Emerson clip and will have to switch it on my 620 when it arrives, which should be Friday!

I really like the look of that carbon fiber...would it be wrong for me to...no...no...must resist...temptation...to..buy...

Ti framelock 7V in M390, at half the price!
Please don't bash me too hard for saying this, bit isn't there something to said about that then? Kind of makes you think from a production to cost ratio stand point right? Love my Emerson's though.

Good point. However, I've always had issues with the lockbar cutout being on the outside of the scale. It tends to hangup on the pocket when I draw the knife out. I've had that issue with Striders and ZTs, which is why I typically stay away from framelocks. The HD-7 has the cutout on the inside, eliminating any hangups. Does that make it worth an extra $200? Probably not.

I agree that quite a few framelock knives are hard to get out of pocket due to the cutout. The Emerson framelocks simply fly out of pocket and easier to Wave due to that. I have struggled a few times to pull the 620 out of pocket without having the knife at a certain angle. In regards to the price, Emerson doesn't produce as many units in comparison to a larger production company. I think that the limited run Emersons are produced in smaller quantities compared to other sprint runs and such. Price is what it is. I rather have a Emerson over a Hinderer simply because I don't like flippers. Hech, some Hinderers sell for double the price of a HD. If you like it enough, than it's worth it regardless of who or what.

I preordered a CF version back in January and still no word on when I will receive it. I got the standard version because I was getting impatient waiting for the preorder. It is a sweet knife, much bulkier than Emerson framelocks but I like that and it waves effortlessly. I carried it for a few weeks and it worked well but have since acquired a HD-7 and it has taken over my pocket.

Very true. Then it boils don't to the wants and needs vs. economics, or just mostly wants. Lol

Throw some pics of the hd7. Been wanting one for years

First impressions
- Built like a tank
- Very smooth deployment
- Great F&F
- Slightly smaller than the Roadhouse - shorter blade and shorter fit
- Nice ergos although I prefer the longer handle on the Roadhouse
- Is it going to replace my Roadhouse? No though I like the framelock so much that I will probably get Nath's Roadhouse Ti framelock
- The shape of the Emerson clip is nicer
- I wish it came with a satin blade with the G10
