I couldn't stand not buying another knife from Kershaw, it's been almost 4 days.;)

So I decided after reading as many reviews as I could find, I decided on something a little different and went with a ZT 0400 Scavenger.

Man this knife is great and for some reason with the unique blade shape it cuts really good. It also came sharper than I need.:D

BTW, I bought a ZT 0200 for a friend as a gift last week for his 2nd deployment to Iraq. His Gerber didn't stand up to the abuses it saw last time he was there, but I believe the ZT 0200 will be great over there.:)

If you all didn't know, I work for the DOD Army at an Army military base.

This ZT 0400 Scavenger will more than likely end up in the sand box with another friend that's deploying to Iraq as well....... as soon as I'm through playing with it.

My next Kershaw knife has got to be a spec bump as soon as I can find a REALLY good deal since I've spent a few hundred $ in the last month on Kershaw knives. But that one will be staying with me and not going to Iraq.:D

sweet dude. can ya post any pics for us?

Wish I could offsetlover, I don't have a camera available right now, well except my crappy 1.3 mp cell phone camera.:(

I've been saving every picture from every thread that has Kershaw knife pictures to my hard drive just so I can use them as wallpaper. :D

I need to procure another decent camera, but I'm spending so much on Kershaw knives I don't know if I'll ever be able to.

I'll try to get some pictures next week at work.

cool. pics gooooooood

i took all of kneedeep's offset pics and i use them for wallpaper and screen savers

Well it didn't take long for me to donate/give up my new ZT 0400 Scanvenger as well to my other friend/soldier that is going to Iraq again to.

He was here at my home today with his family for a BBQ and I was using my ZT 0400 when he spotted it. After talking a while about Kershaws Military line of knives and the ZT 0200 I had already given to the other soldier, he offered to buy it from me to take with him to Iraq, but would have to pay me in two payments.:( No way I could make him pay for it.

What could I do ??? These guys are leaving their families sometimes for 16-18 months at a time with 2 or 3 rotations in Iraq and may not return, I think it's a small sacrifice to give to these guys and they really don't make that much.

On a positive note the only request I ask of him was to let me keep it until he leaves.:D

That's ok though because I know I'm going to win the Blur that Thomas is giving away this weekend and I'll have something new to replace both of the donated ZT's with !!! ;) LOL

CARman, WOW! That's a really great thing you did for your friends! I hope they never need to use the knives for anything more serious than MRE's.

Good luck in the contest! You deserve to win on Karma alone. :D

kneedeep, I told them the exact same thing about using them only to open MRE's. I hope that's all they ever need their new ZT's for.:D

I know I have little to no chance of winning that Blur from Thomas W's giveaway this evening, I was just joking.:)

As far as karma, well that's something that doesn't smile down on me much, but maybe something good will come from me giving up my new ZT's to them.

Although my wife is fully understanding when it came to me giving both of my new ZT's to my soldier friends going to Iraq, she made it clear and plain that I would have to wait to buy myself another knife for quite a while.:(

That is unless I come across someone with a super special deal on a Spec Bump that's price is just to low to turn down !!!;) :D I'd have to beg, borrow, or steal:foot: ...... well I can't really do the steal thing, but just about anything else to get the money for a Spec Bump.;)

so does that mean that all of us should get together and raise money for your next knife purchase?? ;) ;) ;) that may scare your wife a bit though.

No offsetlover no fund raiser for me. I think I'll be alright.;)

I do have to put food on the table for the kids though if you'd like to donate towards that end !!! ;) :D

My satifaction is knowing two of my former ZT's are going to be in Iraq. Maybe when the guys get back, those knives will have some stories to tell me.
