Ordered my first spyderco and received it this morning. I ended up choosing the endura 4 plain edge saber grind. let me start by saying I am a man of many knives mostly of which are Buck, Ka bar, Case, Gerber and Kershaw. This is a quality blade and I'm starting to understand the popularity of spyderco. I had no idea a blade could be so sharp out of the box. the lock is solid, blade has no play and even though it's a bigger folder the light weight an thin profile pretty much disappears in my pocket. I must have opened and closed this bad boy 100 times today because of how good it feels in my hand. Sorry Kershaw Leek and Shallot, I think I found a new EDC. I'll report back soon for a more thorough user reveiw.

Fair Warning - Spydies are addicting. I bought one to "try out" (many years ago), and this is what happened:

And that's my collection AFTER I sold about a dozen of the older models with molded clips!

Btw, Welcome to the Forum!

Welcome!

I've recently been bit by the spyderco bug too.

I thought my knife hobby ended with a few chris reeve knives but coworker showed me a manix 2x and thought I'd try ONE.

4 spyderco and not slowing down, as I keep looking...

Welcome! Spydercos are addicting. Wait until you try to collect all of the ones ever made in Golden, CO. You won't even think twice before dropping $180+ for that rare one that you just have to have.

Current list for me, in the order that I got them:

Tenacious
Delica 4 blue frn
Paramilitary 2 digi camo/satin G10
Manix 2 light weight blue frcp
Chinook 3 blakc G10
UK Penknife blue frn drop point (CTSBD1)
Leafstorm natural G10
T-Mag carbon fiber
Dodo sprint in carbon fiber
Vesuvius with shell inlay
UK Penknife blue frn drop point (GIN-1)
My mom (I'm 13) owns a gray Delica and an Assist, both of which are in the picture.

You guys have so many spyderco but no Emerson hook on even one? I understand its personal preference but I think the wave functions better on the Endura 4 and for the fraction of the cost of Emerson...and all of spydies benefits...only vg10 steel blade i have and ive edc'd it quite a bit, still no need to sharpen.

Just curious :)

I have never needed to deploy my knife with "waved" speed. The main reason it would be necessary, I suppose, would be for self-defense? And if that was the case, and I needed to act quickly, I would be reaching for my Glock 26, not a blade.

My first Spyderco was a hunter C02, one of the first profuction knives the company ever made. My father (Now 45) got it on his 18th birthday i believe. He carried it for 10 years before the clip broke and it got stuck in the shed and I came upon it a long while after that. It was a great knife but sadly due to the clip missing it fell out of my back pocket one day... -single tear- I still miss it.

Great blades, the Paramilitary 2 is the only knife i ever considered spending over $100 on (Well... there was that Cold Steel that one time... xD) I haven't bought a knife for only $40 in a long while but the Manix XL is going to be my first big purchase when i have enough disposable cash. That's saying a lot because i'm a huge KAI fanboy and badly wish to own a ZT.

Fast and easy one handed opening...I find when I'm in an awkward position at work...which happens sometimes hanging off walls and rafters and ladders doing rough carpentry, to reach under my belt and pull out the endura in a flash instead of pulling out a utility knife and sometimes fumbling with it.

And in the slim chance of an encounter with an unfriendly individual (which does happen on the other half of my job doing crappy interior work on foreclosed homes in the city) I guess it would be nice to pull out a knife quickly...but since the gun laws are so strict here in the Chi and thugs are packing enough heat to scare cops away from places at night if those such encounters ever occur we usually just indentify ourselves and hope we get out in one piece.

Usually they wait till we leave to snag all the copper and destroy everything else we did lol.

I just saw some pics and mentions of large collections, just would have thought that with that many spydies one would pick one up just to have one.

I'm just prying at my own curiosity here :)
