Wasn't real sure what to call this one but I was thinking scalper, must be that I'm bald as a Q ball. Its got a 7" L-6 blade, elk stag handle and wagon wheel wrought iron fittings. Its around 11 1/2" overall.

Ray,

Nice blade! Excellent balance on style. Yeah, Scalper, or Trail Scout, there both in there...

Richard , really like the looks of that knife. I would name it after Jerry Lee Lewis and call it "Killer".

Great "antiquing", looks like it could be an unused 50 year old knife...very nice. I'd call it an "Old Timer Trail Knife".:D

Raymond, that knife is a real work. I can see it balancing perfectly.
It looks great - period.

Well I said this else wher but I'm going to say it agin - the best way I can convey my sentiments is:
BOY DO I HAVE AN IDEA FOR A SHEATH!

Ray, mighty fine! I would call it Promised Land Ticket, kinda like Jim Bowie's knife that sent more than one to the Promised Land! Your knife looks like the perfect period knife, self defense, butchering, and general utility knife, which knives were in those days.

Love the looks and like the name -- even though it kinda makes my balding pate itch a little. :D

You know this was one of those knives while I was putting it together I had that special feeling for and I've still have it after its together. I get that feeling alot in the put together stage of a knife but once its done you fall off the temperary high your on. I appreciate all the comments on the knife but think John nailed it with his.

Chuck, I've got the mini show in Eugene the middle of the month but there's not many sales at it so this knife and the other one I plan on having together later today are going to it sheathless. I see you making pants for the two of them.....

Very Very Nice Ray. There was a maker in Shenandoah County back in the 40's that made a smaller version of the same knife. I had one many years ago but lost it about 1974. I always liked the feel of that knife.

Thanks Peter! Whats funny when I make a knife anymore is it just happens. I lite up the forge not really having anything as far as a style in mind and just go from there. Get the blade finished and trace it on an old piece of micarta backboard from a school bathroom remodel and add to it from there after going threw most my handle material seeing which might work best. As far as it resembling another knife sometimes it just happens.....
