Kershaw Blur or SOG Flash II ???

what do you guys think i should go for. its going to be for EDC or normal stuff around the house and work.

any ideas>?

thanks

I have both , a Tactical Blur and a SOG Flash II TiNi coated blade with an aluminum alloy frame. The Blur was about $20.00 less than the SOG but also has an aluminum alloy frame. The SOG has a lock reminiscent of the old Gerber Bolt Action knife, it's very secure, the Kershaw is a liner lock ( also very secure). The SOG includes a seperate safety.

The A/O of the Kershaw is a bit more positive, and the size is not overbearing , but just enough. I don' t remember if the clip can be moved ( I'm not home) , but I think it's tip down only. The SOG is tip up only but right or left hand adaptable and has a low ride clip ( very nice , you can not see a knife in the pocket). The blade steel is 440A on the blur and I think AUS 8 on the SOG. The Flash II in Aluminum Alloy is and does look more expensive than the Blur, IMO it has a better overall fit and finish too. But the Kershaw at $50.00 is a good knife too. I never handled a Zytel Flash II so I can't really say for sure, but I think I would still buy the SOG II over the Blur, it's just a personal preference, I like the design.

The Blur is the better choice. It has a faster AO and has the option of tip up or tip down carry. I also prefer the blade shape of the Blur and you have more options to choose from. Red or Black, 440A or S30V, serrated or plain edge? Last but not least, is the AMAZING customer service you get with Kershaw!

Do yourself a favor and go with the Blur, you will love it!

If you need a rather narrow point on a blade, then get the SOG.
But if you can live with a broader, less pronounced point, then the Blur is your best bet.

In fact, I think the Blur has a MUCH better handle design.

I would go with the Blur. Ken Onion invented the assisted opening knife and licensed it to Kershaw. The rest are copies of his design.
