Yet another recommendation thread.
I have $400 to spend on a knife. Should I finally get my first seb, or save some money and go for the Sage 2 and maybe another spyderco?
Sway me lady's and Djents!

I'd buy two or three great knives if you were hell bent on spending all $400. I'd look at some combination similar to the Spyderco Sage 2, Gayle Bradley and a Military or the new Para 2 coming out. That's right about $400, give or take :D

I've owned just about every desirable Spyderco in recent years and each time I handle and inspect the Gayle Bradley I can't believe what you get for under $130. Subjective preferences notwithstanding of course

If only one, I say the Umnumzaan. If you'd like more than one, I say look to the exchange!

What are you going to use the knife for? What are your preferences? What knives do you own now? Answering these questions will help us give you some feed back.;)

as said before, hit up the exchange and get a seb or umnumzaan for a great price and then keep an eye out for a good spydie:D:D

Either of the Galyean proseries are super high quality, as good as if not better than anything else at 400 buckos. You will not be sorry. The Lahar is a hand ground blade, IKBS, ti slabs, superb F&F. Outstanding customer contact and service. Limited production, his customs run upwards of 7 grand.

IF I HAD $ 400.00 TO SPEND ON A KNIFE...THIS WOULD BE MY CHOICE.

If you want users then buy several knives. If you want to collect then buy one and just look at it (not for me but to each his own...) Personally with $400 you could buy 2 nice fixed blades and perhaps a nice folder for this amount or a couple of nice folders and a fixed blade. Good luck.

I dunno. If I was you, I'd get a nice Bark River, a 710, and a CF Stretch. You might be able to squeak that for 400.

IMHO you can only use one knife at a time.

Buy whatever knife you want most that costs 400 or less, and put the rest in your pocket.

personally I think an SnG is more worth its price than the sebenza though.

I say add $50 more and get a large wood inlaid Sebenza. And the Galyen Pro Series knives have merit, as do the Darrell Ralph HTM knives.

I totally agree
half, or even most or all of the fun is having a new Knife, waiting for it to arrive, and using the heck out of it for a week or two after you get it. so I would buy a nice but decently priced knife and then wait a couple of months and buy another, your tastes may change as well and if you buy allot in one go you will be disappointed
