Received my new lone wolf Paul Defender just now. just opened it up, and first impressions are good. handle is huge, but so is the knife. perfectly centered and shaving sharp. thank you knifeworks, another satisfied customer.

Beautiful! That gold hardware accents the carbon fiber perfectly. Congrats on the new knife

Use a rubber band as a makeshift tourniquet around the base of the finger.

As for more important issues ( ;) ), what do you think of the lock/opening mechanism? How quick is it to deploy/close?

Superglue it and get back to playing with the knife.

I really like the Defender design. I've read that the tip is extremely thin though.

its interesting. mine came tight. my buddy's didn't, so i set about seeing what he was talking about. i did. and that happened trying to tighten it back up...

it takes some getting used to, but its really no slower than my axis if i could figure out how to pull it out of pocket in a position to flip it open. it gets cool factor points though

and kaizen its my left hand thats bleeding. i never stopped playing with the knife.

the tip is extremely thin. which to me is a plus. she slices like a dream... inch deep gash in my finger as proof, and that was with the much thicker base of the blade =(

An inch deep?!?! Either that's a typo, or you managed to slice all the way through your finger. If the latter, pics please. :D ;)

Thanks for the info on the lock/deployment. Uncertainty about that is the one thing that has been keeping me from picking one up, but I might have to pull the trigger now.

if i were to get technical, its more likely .5-.75" and keep in mind its not perpendicular to my finner... nice skin flap going on. pic really doesn't do it justice.

yup. definitely needed stitches. so my Lone Wolf ended up costing me as much as a hinderer would have :o

Despite everything, that is carbon fibre goodness. No knife is mine till it draws my blood.

Dang man, I had a cut just like that once...needed stiches too. Guess this one will be a keeper eh?;)

yeah, i was slightly inebriated when i ordered it. looked at it the next day and was like wtf did you do?! then i got it, tried to find reasons not to like it so i could turn it around or trade it. but i found none. i liked it. alot

and then it cost me a trip to the er without health insurance. this one's not going anywhere

sharp too

Damn bro! I hope that heals up well and fast! :(

I love mine. I have #363. It opens and closes smoothly, locks up tight and fit & finish is flawless. And yes, it's definitley shaving sharp. Any fuzz & gunk you see here is from stropping on my jeans... :D
