I am wanting a new all around pocket knife. I live in a rural area and abuse my knifes. I want one that will last a while and hold an edge. I prefer one hand opening but it is not required. It has to lock though. My price limit is $100 thought i prefer under 75. I also am looking for a fixed blade for general camping and hunting. Price limit of 70 i have no idea what type i want though. Right now my pocket knife is a kershaw funxion and my fixed blade is a cheap winchester.

tcacarter, you're going to have plenty of options!

To make it easy on you, folder in your price range:
Benchmade Griptilian 550
Benchmade 15020 Bone Collector
Spyderco Endura
Spyderco Manix 2
Buck Vantage

Fixed
Becker bk16
Ontario RD series

If i could find the benchmade bone collector for under 100 i would already have. 122 is a little out of my price range.

Anything spyderco really but the endura or delica are great. Kershaw blur is excellent. You can also get a ZT 0350 blem off kershawguy for under 100

Please...whatever you pick, buy American if you are American. If you buy it at Walmart it's not made in USA. I don't care what the brand may be it is made in china or somewhere similar. And for Pete's sake don't buy it from the knife TV shows. For everyday carry I have a Benchmade 9100 auto Stryker, for fixed blades one I've made. Sometimes I carry an old Boker/Soligen pocketknife.

I think an Ontario RAT-1 would serve your needs, OP...

Good luck! :)

+ for the RAT1

A great camp knife for cheap would be a Mora of any kind, they can take a beating. Or a glock 78 filed knife it excellent

The grip is a brute check out some of the stress tests on youtube they beat them to hell and that come back for more

An FRN Delica is sort of a modern classic, the fully flat ground, blade can get incredibly sharp, and cut lighter stuff aggressively. Though if you're hard on them a Saber ground Spyderco would be better than a FFG. If that's the case I'd start looking at the more substantial models like the Manix 2, or the Stainless Steel Delica/Endura, though the Steel handles can be slippery, but some put grip tape on them to remedy that. For a general, outdoor fixed blade a Becker BK 15 Trailing point would be my pick.

i recommand you buy the spyderco dragonfly2 with serration blade, compact size and extreme anti rust ability, and it is bloody sharp that i cutted my fringer and healed 5 days later

what about a tenacious or persistence??? by far 1 of the best knives under $50, Rat1 after that IMHO
