New knifeshow in Paris (June 21-22)

I just heard of a new knifeshow here in Paris, called Ficx ( for international custom knives Forum). It takes place on june 21-22 in the very heart of Paris, at the former place of the paris stock exchange, Palais Brogniart. It is a pretty good news since many of us were not 100% satisfied with the usual SICAC. Paris may deserve a high end show, as well as Milano, Boston or San Diego. Some big european names will attend (Steinau, Reverdy, Bergh, Sucheras, Bennica to name a few). I can see some russian people but only one american (Terzuola).

I went to SICAC for the day when it was over in the 5th at the Mutualite. That was a nice area for a show albeit a bit pricey. Other people have told me that many are not that happy with the current location. it will be interesting to see how this new show works out. There appear to be a couple of more Americans on the exhibitor list and a couple other guys that recognize from Gembloux. Heavy emphasis on the art knives it would appear. Great location!!.

Jerry McClure told me he is planning to present at this Paris show. He is a talented maker and all around nice guy.
 
I already have a room booked .... I'll be going with my 11 year old son. His second knife show abroad (he already has seen Milan!).

If you are coming Marcel, this must be a decent show ! I'll be there too. I'm quite surpised they succeed actually. I've always been told that makers wouldn't want to get into troubles with SICAC...

Patrick, I don't know if you follow Roger Bergh on facebook but he is working on a collab that will be shown in Paris and just for that blade alone I would willingly drive to Paris:cool: :thumbup:
