New Knives, sort of.

Well, for whatever reason, I was having a problem loading pics a while back while posting in a Thread here. Here are 2 knives that I picked up recently on trade.

The single blade one is an Amherst Cutlery Traditional Crown Jack. I know the owner/maker is controversial, but I have to say this knife is sweet. F&F is excellent, as is the walk & talk. Handles are Sambar stag, bolsters are metal (Magnetic, anyways), & the blade is D2. It also has a hidden lanyard attachment. It's 3 13/16" closed (Just over 3.75") & the D2 blade (Flat ground) is 2 13/16" (Just over 2.75"). Oh, it also came with a sheath with a clip, so it can be clipped to a pocket like a modern folder.

The other one is a Benchmade Steigerwalt mini. I guess it could be called a Whittler, sort of. The handles are FRN & the main blade's a lock-back. It's 3.5" closed with a 2 5/8" main blade in 440C. The odd shaped blade that doesn't lock (Modified Spey blade?) is 2 1/4" & in AUS-8.

I've been carrying both knives (Not at the same time, of course) & am pretty happy with them.

I have an Amherst trapper that is quite nice. Not sure of the blade material, but it is hard. Nice ones Robb.

Just to clarify one point regarding the now defunct company you reference.

The "owner" was not the "maker". (Not of that knife or any of the others put up on this site while he was still a member.)

Now that that's cleared up...carry on.

I did not know that & appreciate the info. What I do know is that this knife is pretty sweet...:D

That Amherst is very nice. And larger than most AC's that I've seen. So many were around 3 - 3.5".
:cool::thumbup:

I picked up one of the Amherst 10,000 year old Siberian Woolly Mammoth Ivory knives offered through the forum and have used it on special occasions. It never fails to get attention and performs well. It is a beautiful and functional knife.
