Well I just got back from a very productive trip to Myrtle Beach, SC. On the way there, we stopped at the Opry Mills mall in Nashville and found a knife store called the Cutting Edge where I got a Spyderco Calypso SE for $99. I am sooo happy with it. Very smooth, very classy, and very sharp.
On the way back, we went to the Smokey Mountain Knife Works and I picked up an Allen Elischewitz with G-10 handles and Carbon fiber scales over it. I don't know what this knife is, though. It was $69.99. It says made in Solingen, Germany, so my guess is an Allen E. design made buy some company. It also says on the front "first production run 863 of 2000". Anybody here that can shed some light on this? In any event, I really like both knives, and it was exciting to finally see the Smokey Mountain Knifes Works. We have zero knifes stores around here, so I took advantage of the opportunity and played with pretty much every model that I could. Especially the ones I couldn't afford.
