Well I just got back from a very productive trip to Myrtle Beach, SC. On the way there, we stopped at the Opry Mills mall in Nashville and found a knife store called the Cutting Edge where I got a Spyderco Calypso SE for $99. I am sooo happy with it. Very smooth, very classy, and very sharp.

On the way back, we went to the Smokey Mountain Knife Works and I picked up an Allen Elischewitz with G-10 handles and Carbon fiber scales over it. I don't know what this knife is, though. It was $69.99. It says made in Solingen, Germany, so my guess is an Allen E. design made buy some company. It also says on the front "first production run 863 of 2000". Anybody here that can shed some light on this? In any event, I really like both knives, and it was exciting to finally see the Smokey Mountain Knifes Works. We have zero knifes stores around here, so I took advantage of the opportunity and played with pretty much every model that I could. Especially the ones I couldn't afford.:D

I count for two or three of them. I didn't post b/c I can't answer your question. Be patient, someone will come along and hook you up. Sounds like you had a good time though. :)

77 views and no one acknowledges I was correct. Ya flamin bastids.:D

I'm here to share my knowledge and learn from others not for personal recognition.

Emanual, Snow, I suggest you start your own forum where tell each other how smart you are. Spoiled brats!

Roshi, Snow was being a little over-anxious, but I think Emanuel was just joking. I haven't seen very many questions go unanswered here. The Eickhorn's aren't widely available just yet so a lot of people probably haven't run across one. They look nicely done, though.

Thank you donovan, indeed it was just a lighthearted joke, hence the big grin smilie.

You mean you live in DC, went to Myrtle Beach, SC, and stopped at smokey mtn knifeworks on the way home? I'd say that's just a bit out of the way.

(not that I blame you though)
