I know that people have asked where to find sheaths for Fiddleback machetes so I thought I would share my new Kydex from Mashed Cat.

Eric from Mashed Cat has made dozens of sheaths for me and he always delivers a great product. When I asked him if there was a lighter weight option he suggested .060 kydex which is thinner than the standard he uses. He also added snap straps to the drop loops for added retention. Leaving the ends square was my idea, I had a vision and went with it.

The sheaths arrived today and I must say that I am blown away with these two. They are much lighter than I expected and the fit and finish is superb.

The larger one is the standard 16" machete and the smaller one was a 16" that I modded to 13.5 inches.

Thanks Joe,
I cant put them down or stop playing with them.

I'm trying to figure out some alternate uses for the sheaths, so far I came up with:

1) A flat, smooth surface for food prep, cutting board, or dinner plate.
2) They would make decent shovels for the knee deep sand here in Florida.
3) They could be fashioned into very usable oars or paddles.

Thats all I got for now, any ideas are welcome.
