Hey guys, wanted to show off my new Lamey, and ask for recommendations for a nice lanyard for it. Not sure what I want, maybe braided leather, or brown/tan cord, but I'm open to your good suggestions as well as pointing me toward where I can purchase one for it. Thanks!

Congrats on your new bowie! Matt makes a fantastic knife by all accounts....

As to the lanyard, I would personally leave it off. Unless you plan on doing some heavy chopping with the knife, in which case a simple knotted piece of leather or paracord will suffice, but to my mind a decorative braided lanyard will look odd on that knife.

No lanyard. Unless As mentioned you are planning on doing some Heavy chopping/heavy use.

Great knife. Kinda cute the way Matt snuck a little heart into the hamon for ya near the tip there. He must really like you :) For a lanyard I generally tend towards paracord... it's pretty strong, inexpensive, and its smooth surface helps maintain comfort.

WOW! Awesome knife, love that hamon!

I too would not bother with a lanyard unless a lot of chopping is planned. As Wulf mentioned, paracord is easy and effective.

First of all, WOW! Good score on the Lamey.

Second, I would go right to Matt for recommendations, and perhaps a custome lanyard.

To me, this piece screams "serious cutter" and I believe a subtle leather lanyard would add to that theme.
Personally, I would go with non-braided leather. I like braided lanyards, just think plain would go better with this knife.

I'm sure you have already thought of this, but leather boot strings are readily available and make great lanyards.

Believe this to be the only "straight-on" photo I've ever seen of a Lamey knife.

Another great Lamey! Congratulations!

I didn't choose a thong hole on my Lamey but the handle is so secure i havn't felt like i need one anyway.

I usually use shoe strings. Or whatever is around.
But if you're looking for one to 'theme it out', then I'd maybe contact Paul Long and see if he knows any leather braiders. Putting a string through there will work just fine if you plan on using this knife, but if not it deserves a nice braided leather lanyard imo.
