Hey Heads,

Today I ran to the mailbox and my sweet package arrived. The Laminated scales from Jim62 came, let me tell you it was worth the wait, these rock!!!!!!!! the whole knife took on a totally different look the fit and finish is just right. They also came with a matching ceramic. The blade is now complete, and the sheath I made really pops now with the brown color of the scales. Thanks Jim. Here some pics, hope you like em.

Pugs..

I am so glad you got them OK.

That whole package, the knife Blade etching, grip color and brown leather sheath just flat "work" together.. Very , very nice. You've done me proud with that rig.

The ceramics are my favorite field touchup tool. I only carry coarse diamond hones in case there is major damage to the blade . I always have a cermic on me for the final hone for a hair poppin' sharp edge..

The rods can be a bit fragile as if they are dropped on a hard surface they will break. I am working on several types of 4" and 8" pack type rods that have protective hard sleeves for the field . Since you do not have a hard Kydex sheath loop to carry yours in, I will be glad to send you a carbon fiber cover for yours that you can use with the rod I sent.. That way it can ride in your pack etc without fear of breakage

The whole ceramic rod thing was an afterthought , but to me, they are very useful little tools. Gota keep those blades Sharp!;)

Thanks again for the post- it made my day!

Gents thank you very much.

Jim,
Thank you for the kind words, the scales are perfect and the ceramic rod was very appreciated. Im glad you like my set up. No worries on the cover I think I will add a loop to the sheath. Thanks again bud.

Thanks Jim, what's the turn around look like on these now. I'm thinkin about throwing some of those on my 4 soon...

KABAR.

Due to the backlog I ran into, I am pretty much going to finish up scales in Batches of 4-6 pairs and list them on the Makers forums here.I will not take backorders on any sets from folks here on the forums.Unless i have them for immediate shipment I simply will not take the order. When I have sets ready to ship the they will go out. It's not like I am making any Mercedes payments building them in terms of income and I wind up spending more time answering PMs asking (are we there yet?:)) rather than building scales.. I don't blame folks for doing it and I would just as soon not make anyone here wait. Everyone here has been great to me and I would like to keep it that way..

I'll take group pics of all the scales in each finished batch (both sides)so the folks here see exactly what they are getting since they vary a bit from set to set.
I may be completely out of the Shady Camo material, but I can tell you this. I just finished up a few sets of Woodland camo which is the same color scheme but with Olive added. Many times due to the random order of the colors in the scales, the Woodland scales show mostly the Charcoal and Brown layers and just a thin line of Olive in the center.. So they almost look the same. Going Forward due to the materials I have on hand, the standard colors will be Woodland Camo(Brown, Charcoal and Olive), Ember Glow(Charcoal, Brown and Orange) , Becker Blue (Blue /Black) and Applejack(Red/Black)

Your pattern turned out wayyyyyy better than mine....yours look great.

I was looking at your thread yours a very nice also, I can see how the tri color scales are harder to match up.Yours are unique, but cool as hell.

That 7 looks the shite. A good looking total package. Excellent scales and ceramic, Jim. That is a great idea. I'm going to have to get a set the next time you make them available.
