Dressed up my large and small 21 a bit with new CRK lanyards! I haven't been a lanyard guy until I got in to CRK :D

I was not a fan of lanyards before my Sebenza either, I was on the fence with it at first, but I finally decided to tinker with a little cord and a bead till I found what worked for me. Sorry for the crappy cell phone photo, but yeah this is setup I went with. It was really close for me between this one and the CRK setup you went with, but I was worried about how it might sit in my pocket.

Thanks! Its actually the Hinderer bead- I bought the stainless one for $10 from them and couldn't be happier with how it looks on the Sebenza. With gutted 550 and that bead and without the lanyard pin (though to be fair I didn't even try with the pin), it lays flush against the outside of my pocket right beside the clip. It adds the utility I was looking for in a pretty subdued way. As a forewarning, the stainless bead at least will scratch the outside of your Sebenza, so if you are against that particular type of "character" I'd be careful or consider the titanium. I really liked the CRK specific lanyards you went with and still do, but I was worried they'd stick up and out a bit much for me. I actually considered buying one of those and retying it looser with the back spacer between just one knot on either side so it could hang down.

I like your choice of lanyard--I have one just like that on a small Reg.
I have another set of Regs that I put the same lanyards on to match their silver hardware:

Those look perfect on your blades and the beads are very nice too. Ditto for me, I had no desire for lanyards until my 1st CRK arrived; now, many of my EDC knives have them.:)

Llasi I really like the cord you went with. The different colors really mend together and look awesome with those beads. Really considering that design if I can find the paracord somewhere. Great job to everyone who showed their lanyards off.

For those of you who don't use the lanyard pin (I have an small insingo and the tip of the blade seems to hit the cord and fray it when using the pin) do you run the lanyard through both holes or just one? I have mine through both right now, but then I realized that I would have to cut the lanyard off if I need to take the knife apart. I suppose that would just be an excuse to make a new one. Before I cut this one off, does it look weird through just one of the holes (I realize this is a subjective question)?

I only run mine through one hole and I use basic gutted 550 paracord. The blade occasionally touches it, so I'm sure eventually it'll cut through if I'm not diligent, but after a month of carrying it like this every day there isn't really even markings so it'll be a good long time. I actually run my lanyard through just the clip side as you can see from above. The effect of this with a little slack is that your lanyard will fall neatly right beside your clip. Everyone obviously has different preferences and uses, but with the sort of largish Hinderer bead (or any largish bead or knot) I find that I can easily retrieve my knife with or without gloves without ever putting my hand in my pocket which was my goal. I'd be happy to take any pictures you'd like to see, though it'll be with my crappy old iphone (iphone 3 I think) camera.

Cool. Thanks. Your picture is actually the one that got me thinking about it.

Here's what I came up with. I used two of the nuts used to keep bike tire tube valves stable as beads. I'm pretty pleased with how the whole thing came out.

I really prefer how the lanyards fall when just going through that clip side hole. If you use your lanyard anything like I do, it makes for easy retrieval without having it stick up and in the way for anything else in your pocket.

Very nice lanyards in this thread.

I fitted my Large Lefthanded Regular 1999 BG42 Custom De Wit Micarta Inlay Sebenza with a simple leather string and a knot wich I can't find to translate into english. It's called a "sjouwerman" in Dutch and is a sailors knot and an end-knot. On this dutch page is shown how the knot is made.
Maybe some of you know the english verb. It has a cross on both sides of the knot. The loop has just the right lenght to put my pinky through for securing when working over water or on a height. The leather has smoothed out very nice and is a good match with the micarta inlays.

That knot is also known as a two-strand Matthew Walker knot. Looks great in leather as you've tied it. :)

Haha, thank you very much.
