This is my newest large recurve design. The blade is not gold, it's just bad lighting. Blade is 5/32" CPM 154 CM with 4.5" cutting edge. Blade is really about 5" long. I added some ridges for traction on the spine. This knife has a very deep hollow grind and has a great taper. I was amazed at how thin I got it. The finish is a scotchbrite satin finish. Handle is black linen micarta with red liners 4.5" long. Give me some feedback, this is the design I've been trying to perfect.

Beautiful grind. Very graceful lines. Do you worry about it being to thin for a good user?

It's not that thin. It's not filet knife thin. It has a slight flex if I push real hard. Remember, it's not a prybar. It's a knife. ;)

Excellent! You swedged it just right and it all looks balanced.

Don't know what you were going for, but that looks pretty "perfected" to me! Beautiful knife- really nice lines, and I don't even like recurves.

looks like a great skinning blade! nice fat head and a recurve? sounds like a good recipe to me!

I'm not too sure about that knife, maybe you should ship it to me so I can get a feel for how it works.( I should be done with it in 10-20 years) :D

John,

No doubt about it, you surely "NAILED" the taper and grind. I am assuming the blade has enough flex for my needs. Please check your e-mail.

It's the BBB! Barker's Big Belly! Sweet recurve and overall design...got a sheath for it yet? :)

Now make one with an 8 or 9 inch blade. That would be killer.

Looks great. I like the shape of the blade and the grind that you did. The handle looks like it would be comfortable.
