Here is the new Large Toothpick from Buck. It's the model 386. Blue smooth bone with a laser etched lake bottom scene and a silver bass shield in raised relief. It's another one of the Bill Lowen sponsorship knives. This knife is really pretty and is tightly assembled. I purchased 2 and both are perfect. This is a big toothpick at 5" long, it's the same size as the Model 333 California Toothpick from the 90's. This is the 3rd knife in this series, the first ones being the 382 Trapper and the 389 Canoe. Like the 389 Canoe, this is a contest knife. Ten of these knives will have a gold plated bass shield and the lucky purchaser wins a bunch of stuff. Kinda reminds me of the Willie Wonka contest...:) Here are some pictures....a good deal at $24.99. (When they did this previously with the Canoe they sold out FAST). It would be deal spotting to tell you where to get them but I think you're all smart enough to figure it out.

Here it is alongside a 333 California Toothpick, same length but a little thinner.

Very nice, good to share, toothpick you've got there. My favorite color blue. Makes me want to go for the gold. Thank you for the tip. They have a good looking Buck mug, black and white, as well (ordered from the Buck store, instead of where these bass knives are, today).

Description of production situation-

Just FYI, Buck and Smoky Mountain Knife Works have had a long association in creating and selling exclusive models only sold originally by them. If you students of folders remember, we have had several made by Buck folders with special blade printing (lots of patriotic themes), a few with special color scales (yellow delrin), a few special models such as the jigged bone large toothpick shown (which I actually believe was made by Camillus). These fish sheild knives are a continuation of the production association. In this case they just happen to be using the imported knife models. (now lets not get into that subject, I think we can discuss this without flag waving). As a collector of Buck folders I get an example to have because of the unique "outfitting" of the knife. Much like someone might buy a 4 X 4 pickup with fancy custom camoflauge details and interior. Interesting to look in the display case.....I let the canoe slip by me, but will keep a lookout for one.......300Bucks

Had hoped for a US made one. However, still may get this one for a user for now.

OK, all right, okay. I didn't win the big lottery the other day. Sad isn't it. However, I like the odds better on this one and win or lose you get cutlery! 1 in 100 is a go for me. My order is in!!! If I win the gold then, brace yourself, you've got 1/2 a beer coming your way DeSotoSky. Just try and stay calm...

Pepsi please......

I may have to back track a bit on the 1/2 a beer promise, um, ahh, well, er, yea. Something bad happened to your 1/2 while I was using my 1/2. Pepsi... what's that? :)

You are all right. Thank you for the heads up on the fish toothpick. The tension and excitement of the bet mounts. I hope a winner of the gold is able to post pics here.

Great looking knives. Unfortunatelly they are not available here in Germany. I just know one (!!) shop that sells the 300 series :(

Kind regards

While I'm waiting for the results I'm putting a few more bars into the windows, embeding extra broken glass into the top of the perimeter wall, interviewing body guards and deepening the moat in anticipation of the big golden payoff. 376 down.
