Pretty nice IMO, first 530 I'll own, glad I have the chance since I missed out on the other variants.
Limited to REI, $200.00 MSRP, only #175 made

Really?? Off to the REI site to see if it's there! (Edited to say it's true...) That's a great offering at REI...and won't last long I am sure. To add: I am NOT sure about the copy in the ad that says slices through wire...wrong thing to do with that knife...!

Just checked, it appears to be there. That's pretty cool. 3.25 inch of S30V blade, CF and less than 2 oz. Nice little EDC

What you guys didn't believe me lol ;)

I like that this one has the milled CF pattern, and S30V.. I'm a sucker for CF, and don't like big blades so this should be a match made in heaven lol

+ I have a spare TiCN Split Arrow Clip just waiting for a knife to go on

Joe, did you check the specs? How does this differ from the KW LE 530-1302? Same S30V blade? Edit - looks the same, but 175 pieces vs. 30?

The KW 30 piece version was lacking the Herringbone pattern milling - and in turn, most (EDIT: SOME) who bought the knife were unsatisfied with the final finish..

This 1303 version, however, has a milled out pattern in the CF :) (which resembles the Gold Class version pattern) That's pretty much it

There's little difference; the scales on my 16/30 are flat unlike the REI offering, but being one not satisfied sent mine up to the Gold Class group and had them make a one-off and that made me very happy. All fittings were become silver and the blade was sharpened beyond compare. Here's pics:

I have thoughts on this new REI offering; did BKC have a bunch of spare S30V blades? There was the earlier 530-901 and it makes me wonder because it was the first use of S30V for the blade steel...and the F&F on many of the original 30 pieces like the one above needed a lot of work. I hope these (the new ones) are better than our very limiteds were - and am curious to know if these are numbered 'cuz it doesn't say that in the REI description.

Hope the pics do my knife justice.

Most? 2 guys pissed and moaned. One got his knife modified exactly to his liking by BM. The other one sold his at a profit. No need to exaggerate.

Have you ever seen one? I have haldled (6) of the 30 and they were all fine. (No, they were not all mine)

Not trying to offend, but many of your post are simply not accurate. You should offer your opinion rather than coming off as the all knowing all the time. Just my two.

Sorry shouldn't have said "most" - should have said "more than two" lol Maybe you should go back and read the original thread (some either directly complained about it, or hinted at their disappointment - mostly because they were worried about ruining their little forum reputation with you lol) Quit being so egotistical because you know Rodger from KW - major accomplishment lol

Also, please tell me how my posts are inaccurate lol, - I simply state my opinion like most - bc most everyone offers "opinions" on forums lol - kinda how you ended your last post, "your .2 wise-guy :D

Looks like someone is a little grouchy over this blade coming out, I'm sure you'll still get money for your #1 lol ;)

I would offer this; maybe unlucky in more, (not most) than others in receiving knives underwhelming in quality...on taking my knife pictured above out of the box first I moaned and second was pissed...in that exact order. To credit Benchmade and their customer service, and based on many words in posting my praise and, yes with a critical eye, I had my 530-1302 repaired not only to my satisfaction, but they (BKC) went over and above their offer to do what I asked and am both honored and pleased at what I received out of the box when it returned home. Despite the politics and issues involved, I remain both grateful and committed to buying their brand of cutlery over all others (out of choice) and let that be an additional $.02 on my part.

LOL see EDIT in my original post "m-o-s-t," changed to "s-o-m-e."

hopefully those who were involved with the original batch can sleep now

What I meant to say may have come out wrong. And yes, It seems odd that (2) are so much alike?
No big deal really. BM puts out these runs and offers them to dealers.
I try to get the word out if I hear / see something 1st.
Just like your post here, Thank you BTW!

My point was so many folks on forums give strong opinions on products they have never seen or used.
Often based on opinions from others that have never seen or used. Then it becomes fact.

I would just keep that in mind.

I will probably pick one of these up from REI to complete the set. :D

Thanks for posting this on both BM forums.

And I seldom sell or trade LE's. That's what I enjoy collecting the most.
Usually when someone asks if I have an extra & they need to fill a hole in their collection.
But many folks here already know that.
Sorry to ruffle your feathers........

"hopefully those who were involved with the original batch can sleep now"

I believe both the 1302 and 1303 were BM LE's, not dealer Exclusives.
See how I said I believe? That means I am not sure, Just my best guess.
I think the only folks involved in this run were folks from BM.
And I have to think they sleep well. :D

I will probably do the same, since I've got all the other REI LEs. :) One of my favorite knives is the 940 REI LE (-701? don't remember...) that had beautifully finished carbon fiber scales. I think it's possibly the best finished carbon fiber I've ever received on a production knife. It's not surprising that these almost never come up for sale.

If I post anything, my opinion on the matter is usually geared towards the models that I own and have experience with lol I may not own every model, but luckily the ones discussed are the classics usually - and I have one or two of BM's classics..
