Many will remember that I picked this up from Scott at BLaDe this year

It is a wicked ...... organic SOB with a tapered tang and a nasty clip.

Its fast in the hand and it just spoke to me when I saw it.

Knives like this would look right 100 years ago as well as a 100 years from now .....just a timeless fighter with a raw flavor

Raw and organic in away that matches my bowhunting to a tee

The sheath Scott had made for it .....like the day before blade was most serviceable but Scott after speaking to the great Pappy Long was not pleased with it

So out of the blue, lucky me gets this perfect (for me and my style of carry) sheath in the mail. Thanks Scott :)

On Blades this size I like cross draw that can be quickly slide to behind the hip to get them out of the way

Notice the quick on - off strap

This is a very well done deep pouch sheath that will accompany me on many an adventure

Picture me taking to the woods with my trusty Recurve bow dawning this beauty of a carry rig :)

I'm having a horrible time deciding on which fixed blade to go to South America with

Just shows what a good sheath will do. This piece is a strong candidate :)

Thinking of doing a video on this carry style

On to the Sheath

Scotty did well....and it was a great gesture. I remember talking to Scott about that at Blade.

Great action picture, my son. That arrow streaking from the bow is impressive, and the shot was timed almost perfectly.

Take care and be a good boy.;)

Looks like the McGhees are talented in all areas, fantastic package! What takes you to South America Joe? The capybara must be trembling at the news... :D

Scott has a lot of really attractive blades. Congratulations on the Shiva. The sheath complements it really well.

Fishing on tha Amazon :)

I'm sure you probably know this, but just in case you haven't, from what I've read a lot of times it seems like people will leave some of their blades with their guides and/or any villagers they meet as they really appreciate the gesture. Obviously not something like the Shiva, but something cheap like a Cold Steel machete or a Mora or something.

Anyway, just a thought. You may not even be having a local guide.

Damn dude, you have the best fun... you not taking the bow?

Probable not
2 fly rods
2 casting rods
1 spinning rig
Assorted tackle
Assorted cutlery -1 fixed blade - one folder
Assorted line clippers - pliers

7 day float trip down amazon

No hunting except for fish on this trip

Thanks for the kind words

In my trips from Asia to Africa I have given away everything from spotting scopes to all my clothes so I agree gratuities are always welcome

The favorite of most is currency :)

Thanks for the comments much appreciated

Ha! I want to be present when that ring of yours is gratis.....to ME! :D

Have fun and don't let those Peacock Bass latch onto ya...or those pirannha!

I figured you probably knew what you were doing :). I hope you will post pics when you return. Sounds like it will be one hell of a nice trip.

Good looking leather. I like that style of carry myself and by a coincidence have dabbled in making sheaths with the same 'rifle sling' buttons recently. Brass of course - they age nicely.
Great knife as well and that one also hits home with me. Im thiking about having a knifemaker friend make one in the same style but cant seem to deceide whether or not to go for a 'harpoon'style blade or a bladestyle like your knife.
I like that pic with the arrow leaving the bow. You are right by the way; the flowing of the knife blade compliments the curves of the bow to a tee.
PS
Dogo in the background clearly feigns disinterest as he is miffed that you no longer take him (them) hog hunting!

Good lookin' knife, Joe. Wouldn't mind having one like it myself. Pappy done good on the sheath too!

Thanks all :)

Cashmore

Got a GoPro just for the event

Bladescout

They don't get hunted like they used to :(

Ben

Scott made the sheath not Pappy

Joe, Scot's doing some fine leatherwork. That's a very nice package!

Joe: I'm glad you like the new sheath. Have a great trip, and I'll be honored if Shiva makes the cut.

Paul: Thanks for the guidance. Much appreciated and much needed:)
