Hey Everyone, I got a new sheath for my stabby little friend from my favorite custom maker, me. ;)

My first attempt at working with leather, I quite enjoyed it and learned a lot......have way more to go.

Let me know what you think.

I wanted a strong, compact leather sheath that rides high on my belt and has a place for a ferro rod.....oops, got carried away during the gluing up process and forgot to integrate this.

So I'm going to be making another sheath for this same knife pretty much as soon as I can get some quality time in the garage.

I plan to post some work-in-progress pics from this build over in the Sheaths & Such forum, link below:

Thanks for looking. Go BK&T!

Thanks everyone, appreciate it.

It only has one welt, but has two extra back layers. This was so that the belt loop part didn't get pushed back by the handle of the knife when you insert it. On such a close-coupled sheath you sorta need this for it to lay nice on your side.

That's a fine looking sheath. I'll look forward to seeing what this attaches to...

First time? I think it's awesome.
It looks a little thick compared to what the pros are putting out, but I'd be extremely proud to call such a handsome, well finished sheath my own.
Nice work!

Very nice work......Your FIRST??????......Makes me feel all thumbs and big toes...... Very Nice.....

I know - ha ha, that was a key part of the design and I just left it out. I really was just excited to have some time to work on a project and got to gluing and never paused to realize I forgot something. That's ok, sheath #2 for sweet sixteen will be created the next weekend the little wife is out of town :D

Good luck don't forget it this time haha!
If you do I will have to laugh especially hard at you!
Also you have a very nice patina, reminds me of cracked glass from the images at least!
