Seems like the new Surge is either really popular or Leatherman is not making a lot of them. Every place I have looked are out of stock or don't have the new Surge listed at all. I am retired Army and the PX on Fort Carson does not have any and it is now late May. So who has a new Surge and does anyone know why there is issues with supply? I think there was to many old Surge's still in the stores but could be wrong on that.

Rick, I left you a visitor message where you can buy a Surge now.:)

Of course, you can take the South American river route...;)

Im not to pleased with the fit quality of mine, pliers head was slightly off to one side making it hard to close, the end caps on one side have about 1mm space so they can rotate out by about 35 degrees and catch skin under them if something hits the cap, the Diamond side of the file wasnt completely covered, the pin running though the screwdriver/bottle opener ETC wasnt tight and they had no resistance and would fall open from gravity alone when opened to use as plies.

Nothing that stops it functioning or couldnt be fixed... just disapointing and the replaceable wirecutters on the 2013 version are fantastic... already worn them out doing fencing, something I wouldnt use non replaceable cutters on a multitool for previously due to how quickly high tensile wire wears them away.
I also used the knife to drill around 10 holes though mild steel sheet in the middle of a storm with a crap load of lightning and needed to tie it down with wire to protect a hole in a chicken coop that had opened up.
I was expecting that to be the end of the blade tip... It amazingly survived with just a small chunk out of the blade.

So bit of bad, with alot of good.
