Just got my new Leek with Composite CPMD2 blade and Scallion framelock. My God I am impressed! These are great knives with a wonderful improvement on the Scallion with the framelock. These two knives are excellent slicers out of the box and have very strong lockups. I believe the edge geometry is a lot better on these new knives of Kershaw as they seem to cut much better. And the lock up is much better as the liner does not go all the way across the tang. These frame locks are so strong feeling. I am very excited about how the CPMD2 steel holds an edge and seehow hard it is to sharpen. I love the thinness of these knives and the wharncliffe blade my favorite on the Leek! I do have a problem with Leek as the blade is not centered. The blade is not hitting the side so this is really just cosmetic. Also, the knife must be flipped just right are the blade does not open all the way. How can I fix this? I not capable of taking the knife a part as I have clumsy old hands. Well, I might but I am afraid I might do more harm than good. Plus my eyes are not as good as they were in my youth. I welcome any advice or should it I send in to Kershaw.

Congrats on the new Kershaws!
You can try slightly tightening the pivot screw on the side that the blade sits closest to. This should push the blade more to the center. Too much tightening and the blade may not open well. Some of my Leeks opened the same way when new. In some cases lubricating them made it worse initially. Once you run the knife through a few days of opening and closing it will get much smoother. The more you play with it the smoother it will get. If things don't work out for you then send it in, they will make it right. Kershaw CS is top notch.

Both are very nice knives. I heard when a speedsafe knife will not fully open when new, one way to fix it is to open the knife and let it sit open for 24 hours. What I am told by a friend who has done this is that the torsion bar is under tremendous pressure and by leaving open for the 24 hours it loosens up and starts to work as designed. Simple fix if correct.

I tried leaving the Leek opened and untouched for 24 hours but it did not help the spring action. The Scallion BTW has a stronger spring action. I will play with it and use for a while before sending it in to Kershaw. Thanks for the suggestions, though.
