Just got this knife new and after looking it over I found a strange piece of metal where the inside scale is milled out. Is this normal? I’m new here and it doesn’t seem that I can attach a photo from my phone.

You need a picture hosting site. Imgur is good and free. Upload your pics there, select your pic and click the box for "message boards and forums". Copy and paste that link here.

And, resize the pic to about 600x900 before posting or it will be way too BIG!

Generally they don't resize by default, but you can change your settings so that it does resize when you upload it.

No, I believe when you select the box for "message boards and forums" to get your link, the Imgur software resizes it automatically to fit most web forum standard size pic requirements.

Actually, it does both.....
You can choose image size when uploading to IMGUR

IMGUR hosted pics are also re-sized to appropriate dimensions for the forum page if they are too large.
The resized picture you see is also a link to the full size image. If you click on a picture you can see the full resolution version if its available.
Click the picture below for full size image-

In addition, you can choose image size by clicking one of the options listed in the url selection window

Hello, sir, I have a VECP. I think what you said refers to the "weight reduction groove", which is used to reduce the weight of the knife without affecting the strength. Many titanium frame locked folding knives use this process.
