New level of addiction

I hit a new level of addiction yesterday, with the addition of a Brian Tighe Tighe-Rod. This is my first mid-tech and my most expensive knife to date. I have a yearning for more, but have to really watch myself to make sure I don't overextend. I am on the list for Jake Hoback's mid-tech Kwaiback and am waiting for the email to see if I'm on the list or back-up list. If you haven't seen the Kwaiback you should check it out. Anyway, I sense this as a turning point in my collection

...And a turning point in your bank account :D

LOL ^

NateReed: what was your most expensive folder before the Tighe? And how much was the Tighe if you don't mind me asking?

I just went from my most expensive being around $120 to a $285 custom. I ended up not liking the custom at all (at least not for the price) and traded it for a $200 sprint run. I am way happier with the $200 knife. The difference now (after having purchased a $285 knife) is that I find it more justifiable to buy $100-$200 knives.

i can't imagine spending more than $100 to 125 for a knife but people really go crazy. i'm sure there are people who think i'm crazy for spending that much but for 95% of the time i don't go over $100. i guess if you like something that much go for it but damn.....

Before it was a Microtech SOCOM that I got for $230, but it was a tanto and I didn't use it much. I traded it for a Paramilitary2. I'm happy with that trade. The Tighe was $525. To me this is mostly for looks and fun. It's a fun knife to play with. The blade has those step things in it so I don't want to use it to the point where I have to resharpen it and possibly ruin the aesthetics

Those bevels actually improve cutting performance by reducing friction, they are not just for looks. If you really want to enjoy the knife I say use it!
