I got a call-back from Demko yesterday about a refurb of sorts. Y'all prolly remember the BM630 I waved and double edged. Ended up stripping the screws on the standoffs while PMCS'ing it. Even worse, lost the pivot when my dog decided to empty my tool bag all over the backyard. Kinda like that sword from Lord Of The Ring, it has been sitting in my knife bag waiting to be made whole again.

Demko is doing up a full Ti spacer (yay!). The screws for the standoffs are 2-56 from the factory, he's boring them out to 4-40 and those will thread into the locking slab. None of that screws on each side BS. Then he's peening the lockbar to give it some youthful lockup. New pivot as well.

Now I just gotta mail it to him...

Demko's, ahem, "fixing" other manufacturer models (beyond C.S.) now? That guy is so cool!

Tubular! I have to get something done by him!

He said he has 64 orders pending for Tri-Ad lock customs. He stopped taking new orders. Says its a pain in the 4th point of contact.

I'm just happy I am one of those 64! That man sells them faster than he can crank them out. I'd expect that though, every knife I've seen has been full of win to the gills!

I feel extremely fortunate to own one. Especially with 1 of 1 stamped on the lockbar. Carrying it all day.

What is RFP?

BTW... I'm pretty sure he's still open to modding existing CS Tri-Ad stuff.

Wow... a super 630! Okay, the remnants of the 'hole' are just weird. I liked my basic 630 so much, I bought a spare when I found one at a good price. My fault with the 630 is still the colorful divits on the handle. I've even become accustomed to the recurve. Still, I can't wait to see your's finished.

Right Front Pocket

I would not mind having my Recon 1 rebladed with CPM154, maybe a Ti backspacer.

I hand sanded all the coatings off. Did all the mods with a fixed speed 30000RPM and 2 speed NiCad Dremel. The hardest part was drilling pocket clip holes. Shortened the clip and had to hand drill a couple 4-40 holes through what Demko told me was spring tempered steel. Drilling and tapping the Ti slab was a nightmare in itself. Somehow I got things to work and I ended up with my perfect p'khal knife.

CM, I always thought the Skirmish was a nice profile. I wished it was also available with a left hand option. That re-profile is amazing. I hate it, but it is an entirely new blade and I might understand it's beauty to another person.

:D

It's the progenitor of the waved D/E G10 Police :D

I just talked to Demko and it got there today. You'll be hard pressed to recognize it when it gets back.
