Both these knives came out of my re forge pile. My shop runs out of the pile system. A pile for this and a pile for that sort of thing. The top blade is O-1 and the bottom one is W-1. Both blades are 5 1/2" and overall in the 10 1/2" range. The fittings are cold blued 1018 and both handles are chocolate dyed monkey pod.

Ray, I do like your sense of style in knifemaking. Cool and clean with a simple elegance.

Beautiful work!

edited to correct an idiotic semantic error:rolleyes:

I like then too. They look like they would make a perfect hunter.I like a hunter with a little more blade. But what is dyed monkey pod?

Monkey pod is a Hawian wood, looks something like koa but not the same thing. Its a very stable wood. One of the most irratating woods I've ever worked with.

Very, very clean lines. So, do these knives have slight trailing points or is it just the way they look in the picture?

Keith, They look just like they are in the picture except bigger. Don't expect trick photography from me, I have a hard enough time getting a halfway decent picture.

It's not trick photography that I am referring to. It is just that sometimes in photgraphs a straight backed blade can have the appearance of being a trailing point.

Nice, simple knives are sometimes the best under most circumstances.

Good work.
