New life to my machete

Well i was looking at my machete iv had for a couple years and thinking "this thing is a piece of crap." So i decided to add some new life to my old machete. Sadly i didn't think about posting my results on here till i was almost done so i dont have any before photos of it being all banged up. But i did find the same machete online and will add the photo for a before even though it dosent show how beat up my machete was. the handle was plastic that really hurt your hand and the blade was black but really worn! Tell me what you guys thing and what i can improve on next time. P.s iv never done anything in the way of modding knives or handles (or creating new handles) before so this is my first time.
