New life to old knife

A friend of mine gave me his broken Chicago Cutlery 10" Chef's knife. It was snapped at the beginning of the tang about a half inch from the blade. I re-profiled it and put some African Padauk on it. The handle is approx 5" and the blade is approx 6" now. I still need to do some work on the blade, it was in rough shape. I know it didn't start out as a great knife but it was fun doing it.
This is what the pre-broken knife looked like. (not my picture)

This is what it looks like now.

Thanks for looking.

Very interesting. Definitely looks more attractive now than before. Is the handle in the form of two slabs or is it one piece with a stick tang? What, if anything, do you plan to use it for?

I'm glad i went back and re- read the OP.
At first i thought you had rehandled it with a stick of Pepperoni, which i thought was a bit odd, but would be great in a survival situation.
Now i'm finding African Padauk interesting in a non edible manner.
Nice job! That wood has a beautiful glow to it.

I think i need a snack. ;)
