Finally managed to scrape together enough cash to go ahead and snag one of these. Got my lil temperance (leaf) in the mail yesterday. First impression was "gee this is ugly" then I opened it and all I can say is "WOW!" The handle is unlike anything I have played with before. It feels like you would have to chop my hand off to get it loose. Confidence inspiring to say the least. The blade is massive for its size and like all spyderco knives hair popping sharp righ out of the box. My only complaint was that the clip was waaaay too tight when I received it. Easily fixed in a matter of minutes. Grip changes are fast and secure. I did some short drills on some young bamboo, cuts were clean and precise. I cannot really explain it but it is really easy to "aim" the knife. You can almost feel where the point is at all times. I thought the price was steep before I really got to play with it but now that I have been using (playing) it the quality is evident. Extremely well-made knife.

This is just what I wanted to hear!

I'm in the process of ordering a Lil' Temperance (Leaf blade) and find your comments soothing :D

however when you say your first impression was "gee this is ugly" do you mean ugly as in 'unusual looking' or ugly as in 'ewww… yuck' ? Just out of curiosity really as looking at the pictures I just can't decide...

I have been thinking about getting one of these and have some questions. Does it have dual liners or just one nested liner and is it lefty friendly? I don't have any knives with the compression lock but I have handled one a while back.

On another note I think it would be cool to have a sprint run of the Military in the same green G-10.

Thanks

Yes it has dual nested liners. (I took it apart)- It is built like a friggin tank! The color to me rocks. Sort of like brand new utilities. Not very lefty friendly (I AM left handed) but I have carried on my right (weapon retention) for so long it is a non-issue to me. I can open and close it with no problems with my left hand however, just not draw it very well. (calvary draw does not do well with this one. the but does not turn in your pocket very easily)

Yes the Temperance grip is terrific, perhaps one of the best new features of the knife. I'v had mine for more than six months, and it's still my main EDC.
