Hey there Lionsteel-ers! :)

I'm wondering if any of you that own a SR2 (or SR1) could chime in on this...I just got an SR2A. It is an incredible knife. So nice. So light and so much blade for it's size. The ergos on it are incredible. From an eye candy stand point I am in love with the knife.

I've not carried it yet, only just fondled it...because there's a couple things I'm a little on the fence on.

- The aluminum handles are pretty slick. I think I expected the ridges to offer more grip, but the handle is pretty slippery to me, I love the idea of the mono-block handle, but I almost wonder is the Lionspy execution with G-10 might offer more of what I want.

- Sharpening the knife. This is the part I'd love to hear some feedback on...The blade shape is a little intimidating to me, that large upswept tip, looks like it will be hard to sharpen. I only own a sharpmaker and I am very proficient with it. But that looks a bit tricky. Also this is the first knife I've ever owned that has a convexed edge. Will I have any luck trying to sharpen this on a sharpmaker? Would appreciate any advice or help here.

- I got the satin blade, but man is this a fingerprint magnet. I'm almost thinking of exchanging for the black blade. IDK.

So, for now I'm doing nothing other than fondling this thing until I know if it's a keeper or not

Just use the ceramic rods for touching the edge up. 12-15 passes and a strop should work fine! Good choice

My red SR2A and my small Sebenza are the only two moderns that I use every day. Most of the others I have sold. I still have a few others, but they collect dust. And I've owned a number of modern folders.

Whether it is aluminum or titanium - both metals will be more slippery than G-10. The SR2A isn't a tactical knife. And that's a great thing for me. I don't own any tactical knives, don't want a tactical knife. I use mine - all the time - and it hasn't fallen out of my hand yet.

The blade arrived sharp. I have a Spyderco Triangle - and it keeps the blade super sharp. No issues with an occasional touch-up.

Only you can decide if you want to use yours. All I know is that mine is in my pocket today, as it was yesterday. And probably will be tomorrow. And that's after owning and using a number of more grippy knives. No scratches yet on the aluminum - and I can't say the same for my small Sebenza which is a scratch magnet. Yes, the blade does show finger prints.

Having owned a number of knives - and after selling most of them - I know that this SR2A will be with me for a long time, and used heavily.
