After ten years of honorable service, we decided to retire the old LionSteel web-site and replace it with a new one more modern and faster. Of course, like all new sites, definitely has some errors and bags, although it has been checked many times I am sure that someone has slipped away. For this reason we apologize in advance for any of them and we ask for your help. For each error found, and unquestionably recognized by LionSteel, will be granted a discount of 1%. The errors and the discounts can accumulate up to a maximum of 15%. The same error found will be valid for all users who discover it as long as it will not come from LionSteel correct. The discount can be used to purchase only one knife.

I like the fresh look of your new website.

Login for old users works fine and old warranties are there. Just registered another SR-2 A.

I see you use mostly Queen's English not American English. For instance, we here in the U.S. say organization but in the U.K. it's organisation.

Gianni, Let me know if I do not have the 15% and I'll find some more bugs. :D

BUGS/TYPOS/ERRORS

The collections page does not show the images: http://www.lionsteel.it/n/k/en/eur/products/mm/default

Many pages say Dettagli instead of Details while you're in English language mode!

Massimo Salice Sanna:
after starting making knives in 1993 as a hobby, soon his passion became a real job and day-to-day activity. Well known for his accurate touch and the eye for details, he is considered one of the first knife makers in Italy: he was noticed and therefore chosen by LionSTeel for his precision and attention to design and mechanical features of the knives he makes. The Opera model was born in 2006, followed by other product families - Daghetta, Mini and Skinner. Currently, new designs and projects are under way to be soon put into production.

Come on Gianni. This isn't fair. Make a Greek version also! :D

With my terrible english I found these errors:

- In SR1 description: Huddehol instead of Uddeholm
- In SR1 description: Renforced instead of reinforced
- In SR1 description: Cardbord instead of cardboard
- In SR2 description: Huddehol instead of Uddeholm
- In SR2 description: Renforced instead of reinforced

- In TiSpine: Matt Shine instead of Matt Blue (or Violet?)
- In Legal section: Buyer's buide instead of Buyer's guide

Some comments (or errors?):

- In SR-1 and SR-2 descriptions you wrote Aluminum, but in specs Aluminium.
- In Skinner you wrote block. Do you mean lock?

I like a lot new site.
And thanks Gianni for error hunting!

Thanks Gianni.

Let us know when you've fixed these and I'll do another pass.

We need a LionSteel flipper!

Nella descrizione dell'SR2 e dell'SR1 ti segnalo due errori ortografici nella descrizione dei coltelli

- brvettato invece di brevettato
- scaola di cartone invece di scatola di cartone

Gianni,

A few updates to the website...

  • The PDF Catalog is still the 2013 one. I know the 2014 is coming in a few weeks. It would be nice to have the old catalogs from past years as PDF links on your website. Benchmade and Spyderco are doing this and I've asked Zero Tolerance to do the same and they were very receptive.
  • In a few places it says Huddehol instead of Uddeholm Sleipner. Also, incorrect spelling: Alluminium (should be either Aluminum or Aluminium) on that same page.
  • The Who we are section is blank! Perhaps a photo of the original Lion Steel statue?
  • The description for the M7 Fixed Blade knife needs better grammar to something like this:
M7 is the new LionSteel fixed blade knife. Our goal was to build a good multi-purpose field knife. Therefore, we decided to use an old project developed a few years ago with Molletta -- Carthago was produced as a limited edition and with the necessary modifications we have put it into production. The blade is made of Uddeholm Sleipner steel and is 180mm (7.09 inches) long with a thickness of 5.5mm (0.22 inches). Overall length is 315mm (12.40 inches) long. It is available with a SOLID Micarta handle (four-axis milling) with a satin or black blade finish. The sheath is Kydex with Cordura. Total weight is 410 grams (14.46 ounces).

Good updates but the Italian version of the Who we are page has more content!

Google Translation of above:

Our history
LionSteel was born in 1969 in the wake of the tradition Maniago. It was founded by Gino Pauletta and in the early years he specialized in contract manufacturing for other factories of cutlery . A few years after his wife , Bazzo Cesarina , became part of the company thus giving new life . They were well designed and put into production the first models of folding knife , along with such models sprang to life even the brand LionSteel . Brand which comes from a stone sculpture depicting a lion , made by the grandfather of Gino , and from steel , a fundamental component of the knife. Leo and steel in English so they created the brand Lionsteel .
During the late nineties , even after the entry into business of the three sons Daniele Gianni and Massimo , the company has made the leap , consolidating its position as a ' leader in the production of cutlery . The introduction of information technology and numerical control machines has enabled us to improve the quality standards of new products.
At this time the company has fifteen employees and is selling direct in all the European markets and especially in the USA. The philosophy of LionSteel is to produce knives in our own factory , avoiding the maximum for products from cutlery to third parties, and particularly from the Far East . We are confident that the Made in Italy still has its weight and its own dignity.
Gianni Pauletta

Here's what you entered which is based on what I got from one of your dealers:

Lion Steel Knives was founded in in 1969 in Maniago, Italy by Gino Pauletta and his wife Cesarina. The company continues today under the direction of their sons; Gianni, Daniele and Massimo. The brand Lionsteel was inspired from a lion steel sculpture, handmade by Gino's grandfather.
The family-owned Italian company made great strides in quality with a large investment in top-of-the-line machinery. Lionsteel Knives continues to introduce designs that are advances in technology and quality. The Lion Steel SR-1 knife is the first production folding knife to include a full integral titanium handle! The process to create an integral handle in titanium is both time consuming and requires extensive machinery tool investments. The result is a stunning knife that is both extremely attractive yet incredibly strong. The Lionsteel knife model SR-1 was awarded the coveted "Most Innovative Imported Design" at the 2010 Blade Show in Atlanta.
The philosophy of Lion Steel knife company is to produce the knives using the highest quality materials and world class quality control.

I didn't know Maniago was such a small town of only 11,000 people with at least two great knife companies: LionSteel & Fox.

I amo working on a more professional presentation of LionSteel, I think it will come with the new 2014 catalogue.

Excellent. Also, please tell us a little bit about the history of knifemaking (and swords, etc.) in the little town of Maniago! Next time I'm in Venice I'll stop by! It's only about 75 miles away.
