New Mcusta Katana folder has poor blade centering?!?!?!?!

I own the Black/Blue version of the Mcusta Katana, it was such a cool knife and I loved toting it. Someone in my family wanted mine, and I very much preferred the Blue and Orange version. So, I tossed the Black version to my cousin and I bought the version I wanted. Awesome knife, buttery smooth. But, when I opened the package I found the blade centering to be piss poor and almost non existent! Its flush against the handle wall. Mcusta brags about the nice centering in these models. How could this have happened if they are hand made and checked out before they are sold off to other websites for resale. Look at this and let me know what you guys think. Next to my black version, this one is just terrible. The black version is perfectly centered. I can't really fix this can I? Funny, my Tiny Tighe Breaker folder has the exact same problem yet I know others who also own it who have better centering than mine. Damned if I am not an unlucky sob ! Still, the knife is gorgeous and I love it, does this make my knives unique lol...

It should be fixable. The method here might help. However, depending on your view and circumstances, you might want to send it back for warranty.

I got a Resilience that's 15% off center but not rubbing the liner. Upon opening & closing plus adjusting pivot and the handle screw, it's almost perfect (5%off).

Because shipping costs a bomb, and the knife is a user, I live with it. Yours look like 65% off center.

Thanks for the help, I tried those methods earlier to no avail. It will have to be shipped back to the place I bought it from. Ah! So sad to see it go, but then again its scraping against the inside of the handle. Thats just how flush against the side it is. What a great knife despite that, but I prefer the Tiny Tighe Breaker i think.

if it does not scratch the blade closed it's fine, lock must be safe too
did you take it apart and give it a noce cleaning? often off center blades are due to bad mounting

The knife was brand new and in perfect shape. Its just not bolted together the right way, the blade is fine and nothing is bent but it seems like the handle itself is off center, one side seems lower than the other. Its going back tomorrow morning for a replacement, National Knives is just amazing with their support. Super happy I bought from them, they snapped me a pic of a new model with proper centering and no apparent flaws. So, I'll exchange her out.

Send it back to the dealer and request a replacement. You shouldn't have to 'tune up' a brand new knife, IMO.

I have 5 Mcustas and 4 are perfectly centered, 1 is just a tad off center, and I was kind of annoyed by that :D.

While it may not have affected the function of the knife, you really expect a bit more from Mcusta.
Plus as the OP indicates in his vid, he had been wanting and dreaming about it for months, so getting one that is less than near perfect really sucks.

Glad National is taking good care of him.
I was impressed they took a pic of the replacement before sending it to him.

Me as well, super awesome business that will get more from me in the near future. I got a reply on a sunday morning from them with a snap shot of another Katana in stock in my color with perfect centering. I'm shipping it back out today and hopefully I'll get the new one by next week or the end of this week. The blade is flush against the lining of the handle. Only sound was affected, as it was barely clipping the edge and making a scratching sound. Despite that, it still opened VERY smooth. Definitely a keeper once i get one that wasn't messed up.
