Bought a new Mcusta and am very happy with it. First thing that struck me was the light weight, rides easy in the pocket and the clip is even with the top of the knife so it sits low in the pocket as well. First flip open was nice as well, very smooth action without any binding or tight spots. The blade itself is cleanly done with a handsome swedge. It is the MC-10, VG-10 blade married to the MC-4 scales and wears the Browning name but is pure Mcusta through and through. Nicest part? Under 40 bucks NIB.

Iv'e got one of those, nice knife. Lock-up is good and pivot action is smooth. VG-10 holds a good edge also. Nice score.

I don't own an Mcusta but I've been very impressed with what I have seen of their stuff. I have been wishing that William Henry would bring back liner locks--Mcusta already is.

You can find the Brownings right now under 40 on that e-bay thing...just search through both Browning and Mcusta. This is a Ice Storm, marriage of the MC-10 and MC-4 but you can also find the Browning with straight, square scales as well. They can be found in various colors, gold, bugandy, red, and green are what I have seen.

I'm going to South San Francisco tomorrow and getting one of these; I had my eye on one two years ago, and I found out the dealer still has two of the old ones I looked at. Around $50., it's worth it in my opinion. (Dealer's a friend, too.)

thx - cpr

ah crap, now you let the word out... ;)

These are one of the best deals out there.
Please let me know if someone knows of a better made knife for the money.

Neat grinds, solid, and clean machining.
Great knife!

Just ordered one today. $29.95 + $5 shipping. Dark Red Alum w/ VG-10 blade. Hear good stuff about it. Is the blade 3 1/4" or 3 1/2" long? All description of the length vary. Ordered two Spyderco over the weekend and they went on backorder. Had to get something.

I have to admit that I do like them, but I do have a hang up about buying Japanese goods.

Why? The Japanese have been making some of the world's best cutlery for thousands of years. Mcusta makes a great knife that is equal to, or better, than any comparably priced American made product. (Moki is another great Japanese company that makes an outstanding knife)

Mine just arrived today. It was a on a wim and am surprised at the quality for a knife under $30. Lock up seems good and overall fit and finish also seem to be on par with higher priced knives. It is dark red, alum. handles, VG-10 blade. It came razor sharp at 3 1/4". Sits low in the pocket.

As Mr Levine so often says, read the knife...lol. I was not surprised at all by the quality, Mcusta has a solid reputation for making a good knife and even tho their name is not on it they know they will be judged by it's quality.

Does make one wonder just how much of your money goes to buying a name and not steel when purchasing a high end knife tho...
