I just received a Busse Mean Street that I ordered from Bladeart.com. Great transaction, btw.

I'm just trying to find out a little about the history of my particular knife. It is a Mean Street, with polished blade. It supposedly has INFI steel and G-10 scales, but I can't tell if this is the case or not.

The actual knife that I bought is at www.bladeart.com, click, "Knives", then "Production", then "Busse". Mine is the first Mean Street pictured. It came with an extra neck sheath, which is great. I paid $300.

So, is this INFI steel? G-10 scales? Approximately when was it made? Does Busse not stamp their name anywhere on their knives? Mine has no markings, except for a small cut in the steel right before the blade edge starts.

I have been wanting a thick, 1/4" stock, short-blade knife for neck carry for a while. I guess they are pretty rare. This one seems like it can handle anything. Also, do some of the sheath-makers have sheaths for this model in stock?

Thanks for any help.

Looks like an INFI Mean Streets to me. The tube fasteners I think were only on INFI versions. The handle material is micarta not G-10.
Nice knife. It will handle whatever you want it to. I've got one. I just got one of the new versions and I'm retiring my older one.
You got yourself a great little knife.

Thanks for the info. Do you know why there is no Busse stamp anywhere on it? In some of the photos online, I notice a logo stamped on the Busses.

I think "sterile" (i.e. no logo) is the standard. If you request it they put the logo on it. That is a nice little Busse! :)

I haven't seen a Busse selection at Bladeart.com for a while, good to know they are selling at least some again...

Some do have the logo and some are "sterile". I have a couple and more are sterile than are marked.
Here's an example of the same model knife, some are marked while others aren't. I'm pretty sure the blades supplied to military are sterile but I don't know why some civilian examples are and others aren't.

Hmm, don't recall any Mean Streets being marked originally. Somewere after re-furb.

Although, there could have been some.

Yep, quite a selection at B-A....
