Hello all,

First, an introduction. My name is Phil Reedy, and I just recently found this forum while researching my next knife purchase. I am somewhat new to the world of knives, so I'm hoping that some of you will have the time to provide a few suggestions.

I am looking for a very nicely made folder that is a) single blade, liner lock, thumb stud opening, b)not more than 3.75" long, and c) nice looking, not tactical. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. One knife that I'm considering is the William Henry Kestrel w/bone handles (I just need to find more info about this brand). That should give you some idea as to what I'm looking for, and my price range.
I would like to find something that can be carried easily is dress pants, can be deployed quickly, and that I can show to friends and use around co-workers and not scare them when I pull it out (hey, it happens....). Once again, any suggestions as to brand or dealer would be greatly appreciated.

Phillip,

First, welcome. I think you will come to enjoy your time here very much. Very educational as well.

Second, I have three words for you: "Chris Reeve Sebenza" once you get one all others pale in comparison.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forums!
What kind of price range are you thinking of?

Wow ! I didn't expect so many replies so quickly. Sorry I neglected to leave out a few things. Price isn't much of a factor, and the max measurement is blade length.

thanks,
Phil Reedy

Welcome to the forums Phillip. Get used to the quick replys and the friendly and knowledgeable people here. This place never ceases to amaze me.

As for your question,

William Henry makes great knives. I've heard nothing but good about them. If you want a high quality, "nice looking" folder, they are the way to go. Good Luck with your endless quest for the perfect folder.

Welcome, Phillip. Since Chris Reeve has already been mentioned, I'll suggest that you also take a look at both Darrel Ralph & Allen Elishewitz. None of them will disappoint you in either the short or long run.

Okay Phillip, here's my two cents:
Benchmade (BM) 720 by Mel Pardue, BM Sentinel by Allen Elishewitz (also known as the Dark Star, check out www.benchmade.com), Spyderco Centofante II, Spyderco Howard Veile (my "office" knife, www.spyderco.com). Hope this helps and welcome to the forum.
